While wandering in this globe alone, as is the want of the children of men, I foundeth that which would raise any man's spirits so lying on my porch.
Lo, for upon my porch was a dog, and gladsome it did seem to me for to take it inside.
It's four furred feet did alight on wooden floors, but in all directions did I look no family did I have in view. Alone I am save with this, man's friend and companion in hunt and home.
It is fitting that God above should give man such a temperate companion as this, one given not too much to laziness, nor too much too roaming.
But now I sit in my home a-wondering. Hey h[i][/i]o, I know not whither to take such worthy a dog. What do?
