Seraph Towers

Since bungie upped the difficulty of the towers the most consistent cause for failing has simply been a lack of people there to complete it. Even during the community challenge when you could load in with five others in the instance it was a struggle and not for a lack of trying. I can't name a single other public event that can't be done solo or at least with just one other stranger, requiring no communication or more bodies than a raid requires to have a chance at completing. Never mind flawlessly. I am very aware that it is possible as it is and I'm not debating that, I don't care if others have managed to complete it flawlessly their first try. The point I'm trying to make is that despite making a flawless completion part of the Almighty seal requirement Bungie has provided no tools to obtain it. Open world fireteams are capped at three players, before this would have been more than enough but now with multiple bosses spawning on multiple plates there's simply not enough man power to deal with it all. Bungie made an attempt at "balancing" the event already since people have been vocal enough about the new event but completely missed the issue, Champions were never the reason for failing. Getting to them was and still is. Case in point. In the rare instance we were able to summon the champions it only took three shotgun shots to take one down. The bosses that swarm the plates however take up to nine. I just don't see the logic. You know Bungie always intended on making the Towers harder because they locked the flawless triumph until AFTER they made it more difficult. So why then not do as they did with the Sundial? Let people load into the activity with enough players to reasonably complete it, consistently at any rate. Not force them to wait around or go through multiple failed runs in the hopes that having an active event has more people load into your instance. Challenge doesn't equal fun, not all the time. Especially when the challenge isn't based on a lack of skill or understanding. It definitely shouldn't involve having to work around the game to make a co-ordinated effort towards a triumph. Edit: TL:DR If an activity needs a level of communication and co-ordination to reliably complete then it needs to have matchmaking.

  • Just face it. Bungie is unable to build a game. The raids are the only interesting content. The story and most of the loot and game systems are just crap.
