Trials of Osiris matchmaking needs to be reviewed as soon as possible

I have been playing Trials for a while now. After I don't even know how many games, I have 12 wins or so, and managed to get 3 wins on the same card only last night, after much (MUCH) distress. Most of my friends don't even have 3 wins and only one managed to get to the lighthouse, mainly because he plays with other people from LFG. The problem is: I was playing this morning with 2 people who never ever played Trials in their life, they were playing for the very first time. Our card was 1/2 and we got matched with a Synthoceps Titan bragging a 19x Flawless badge. After resetting the card and managing a 2/2, we got matched with 3 Flawless Hunters. One of them had 3000+ final blows, I couldn't even see them on the radar. You don't have to be a PhD in mathematics to realize that the matchmaking is completely useless, it does not work. Cards shouldn't even be taken in consideration over your stats. I wanna have a good time, not get steamrolled by some psychopath who does nothing but play PvP. I don't mind being bad, I mind being matched with a 19x Flawless Titan when my card is 1/2. So I have a suggestion: why don't you take in consideration peoples stats' BEFORE taking in consideration their card? I have been checking LFG all morning and 90% of the groups are for token farming, this without mentioning people selling Flawless for 30 bucks. Flawless people reset their card at ONE VICTORY to farm tokens. You wanna farm tokens? Fine, you're going to farm tokens with someone who have already reached the lighthouse, just like you. Matchmaking should be connection-based first, then stats-based. Cards should be taken in consideration only for ties. If you never got 3 wins in your life, you're going to play with people who never got 3 wins. If you managed 3 wins, you play with people who already managed 3 wins. If you managed 5, you play with people who managed 5. If you managed 7, the same. If you're Flawless, why on earth should the game match you with someone who never got 3 wins ever? Because the card is new? It doesn't make any sense and totally breaks the experience. I have no idea if this is something hard to accomplish on the dev side of things, but I can assure you it is much needed. This was supposed to be "the best PvP experience ever". I have been listening to my friends talking about Trials for many many years and how amazing it was back in the day, when they played D1 on Xbox. Now I have the opportunity to play it, and it is complete garbage. I am by no means an AMAZING PvP player, but I know my way around. I already have to deal with major ping issues, most games being ALWAYS 100ms+, and when I think I'm gonna be able to have some fun while getting better at the same time, here comes the tryhards with Warlock Arc Drones and Titans with them 10 meters punches. Please take a look into this, Bungie. Latency is not the issue here. I should have no problems at all playing at 200ms with someone who is on the same level as me, which is 3 wins. Ping is not the problem, the card is.

  • Why bother with trials at all. I had already fully given up any hope of going flawless. My opinion is if you can’t get not forgotten, you’ll never go flawless. I haven’t even tried trails. But I know better. I already commonly get messages from both teammates and opponents about how bad I am. I’ve always wanted to prove them all wrong, but it’s simply hopeless. I don’t need more shame and guilt in my life, especially how my currant situation with depression is. I’ve already accepted to never show my face in trials.
