Why haven’t I played Pokémon until now?

So a few days ago I got Pokémon Shield then enjoyed it so much I got Let’s Go Pikachu and my only complaint is that I don’t have multiple save files on the same profile.

I played firered as kid and loved it so much, but I never liked any of them after gen 1 to much
