So a few days ago I got Pokémon Shield then enjoyed it so much I got Let’s Go Pikachu and my only complaint is that I don’t have multiple save files on the same profile.

Play older pokemon. The experience is more fufilling. For core gameplay value, Gen 4 is the best For the best endgame I would suggest Black and White 2 Gen 3 really does have too much water but I think you would enjoy it.

My biggest complaint with LG P/E is how much they butchered from the previous games. Pokemon didn't have abilities, relied too much on a dumb catch mechanic, and items weren't spectacular either iirc. It was, at best, a spin-off masquerading as a core series game. Never played Gen 8, but Gens 2 through 6 were solid on their own. Gen 1 isn't that good but I can't hold it accountable for that considering its time. I also never played B2/W2 or the original S/M either so I don't have an opinion on them.

I'm still waiting for them to remake gen 4. Gen 4 will always be by far the best gen ever

Edited by NeonPropose: 5/3/2020 7:01:54 PMHonestly, I recommend going back and playing the other games if you want a more challenging experience. Especially Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver and Black/White. Black2/White2 are amazing, but I personally prefer the first games. And X/Y is fine (mega evolutions need to come back) but it’s not as great as the previous games. Same for ORAS Imo. Haven’t played Sun/moon or UltraSun/UltraMoon, but I’ve heard very good things about both. Sword/Shield are tons of fun, but I felt them to be easier than previous instalments. And let’s go is definitely to cater to both fans of the main line of games and those brought in by Go. Either way, all pokemon games are great.
if you want something more story centric, go play either Pokemon mystery Dungeon Blue/Red rescue team (they remade them on switch) or play Mystery Dungeon explorers of Sky/Time/Darkness
Games trash.

Silver/white is the best

I played firered as kid and loved it so much, but I never liked any of them after gen 1 to much

Great series. Some of the older games are better though. Gens 4 and 5 are the best, with Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire in gen 6 being next. Gen 8, the current gen, is good though too despite all the hate it gets from fanboys

The “multiple save files” thing is probably my most requested quality of life improvement that I want introduced into this franchise, so that I can create multiple characters. As for Sword/Shield, they are good games. I’m currently playing through Sword at the moment and I’m enjoying myself.

I don't like any of the ones after Ruby and Sapphire. They're all the same and no innovation

They’re good fun. If you ever need any trades in shield feel free to ask—I’ve completed my Pokédex outside of Zamazenta! On that note, can I borrow your Zamazenta when you get him? I can give him right back!

If you have a 3ds get Ultra Sun/Moon or Black and White 2. They're very good.
