|The Tower, Somewhere in South America, Present Day|
————————————————————————————————————
Paradox had just finished his assigned curfew by Aunor. He reckoned that she only let him off so easy due to his “valor and nobility” as Shaxx had told her. She had always went to Shaxx when she gave him an assignment, that was to be expected. The Crucible handler had seen a lot of things, and amongst those things was Paradox’s prowess in the Crucible. Saint had suggested that he tackle the issue of Guardians using unnatural abilities there, and yet he had declined the offer for his own sake and for Aunor’s.

When he stepped outside into the bright light of the Courtyard he was greeted by Eva who explained the recent events to him. Paradox had always liked seeing Mrs Levante at the Tower, her presence put him at ease. He politely told Eva that he would not participate in the Guardian Games, and she understood. He set off towards the Praxic headquarters in the south-western part of the Tower, near the Annex. When he had arrived there he was briefed on his latest target, someone who had helped Variks, a Guardian named Shadow. He left the headquarters without saying a word, yet Aunor was waiting outside to greet him.
“Good morning” She said
“Same to you” Paradox replied
Aunor could sense a hint of fear in his voice as he spoke, something wasn’t right.
“You just received your latest target, I understand that your shocked....”
her sentence was cut short
“I’m not in shock, Im in fear, remorse. I don’t want to do this yet I know it’s right. There’s something off about this case and I know it. I’m going to get to the bottom of this, I’m going to get to the bottom of all of this!”
Paradox said this as he walked triumphantly back towards his apartment
————————————————————————————————————
On his way back, he caught a glimpse of a Hunter lingering in the shadows, out of sight. He turned back to get a closer look only for the Hunter to vanish from his sight. He had a hunch that the Hunter was Shadow, no, he knew that the Hunter was Shadow. He had to prove that she was innocent, and that Variks was innocent, Shadow would probably want to do the same. He could respect that, wanting to help others. He continued walking until he reached the Courtyard again. He decided to visit Shaxx for no apparent reason, and after that he finally went back to his apartment.
————————————————————————————————————
From there, he went directly to researching everything he could on Shadow and Variks. Once that was done and over with, he had a bowl of soup before shutting down in his habitat chamber for the night.
