The focus from Bungie has been on punishment by banning accounts. I feel this is however of little to no use as people can keep creating new accounts for free. This creates a dilemma that makes account bans futile.
Discussions about putting Trials behind a paywall or requiring a minimum number of playing hours before being allowed to play trials seem to be good ideas but this will not stop anyone from cheating in any of the other pvp activities, spoiling much of the fun for serious and often paying customers. The largest part of the community will therefore not be helped in any way by focussing on just Trials.
So here is my solution:
Do not ban cheaters. They will keep coming back if you do ban them so why bother?
Instead, let's all make fun of them! If someone is using a cheat such as aimbot, wallhack or whatever, DO NOT INFORM THEM but display this cheater on every other player's screen as a bright coloured teletubbie like moron. Lower their armor stats and weapon damage output to 10% and let them keep playing the game! Also make sure every other can see this jackass through walls for added hysteria so we can chase him until he gets sick in the stomach and leaves by his own free will.
I know for a fact that most players will be laughing their ass off having any cheaters in their pvp match this way.
What do you say, fellow guardians?

I scrolled through numerous posts in fireteams (PS4) last night. Many were blatantly soliciting so I started to check their history and other guardians that were in their fireteams during said history, all I could see was evidence of cheating by the poster and those who had joined. Some of them go back months too. That's just PS4. On Bungie's own app too
