In the next dlc, we fight a “darkness” version of Cayde-6. But the traveler gives us a gun of light to shoot at darkness Cayde, and instead of killing him, he turns into regular Cayde.

I’d give him his gun back

Edited by Riven’s No.1 Cookie Baker: 4/21/2020 4:46:04 PMWe already know cayde is coming back eventually. Read the lore for the Opulent Scholar Bond.
Opulent Scholar Bond MCXXIX, forthcoming. Recorded by Underscribe Shipal Thus did the Shadow of Earth slay Cayde-7. Then a visitor approached the throne of the Joyous Emperor and proffered himself before the Generous Host. He was Cayde-7, whose origins are recounted in MCXXXVII. ^ Cayde-7 knelt at the Emperor's feet, and kissed his boots, saying: "Your truest servant is here." And the Emperor was pleased, for he thought that this one would make a very fine Shadow. But the true Shadow of Earth, jealous of the Emperor's love, cut down Cayde-7 where he stood in the Emperor's throne room, and then dealt with his ruins in such a way as to ensure that there would never be a Cayde-8. The Emperor was pleased, and that night there was a great feast aboard the Leviathan. ^ A note to Underscribe Shipal: Entry MCXXXVII appears to be missing. Please reattach it to this account, and delete this footnote upon rectifying this error.
Edited by Gingiebread: 4/21/2020 7:52:08 PMConsidering the pain I went through when he died in front of me, and having to practically go against Zavala’s orders to bring justice to Uldren and his band, I might be a little bit angry (but, you know, kinda an irrational anger to think about it). I’d be shocked, but ultimately confused. Joy would set in once I figure out how he came back and confirm that he’s real and that I’m not a head case. Edit: I wouldn’t think him coming back physically would make sense, though. It would go against everything done in Forsaken (again, “I disobeyed Zavala and killed a bunch of guys to avenge you only for you to come back alive again?”), and I could see a story being twisted (and probably chaotic) from there. If Cayde could be brought back to life, then why not the Speaker or my friend Joe? It would get ridiculous pretty fast. I miss Cayde, a lot, almost to the point where I wish Forsaken never happened, but I’d let him rest.

What if.....Cayde were to return...first thing is he going to meet Saint and said "oh damn. Are you feeding the freaking birds? Why don't you take care of the colonel( a chicken)??? He is a type of birds!! You are bad at this, dude."
-
If he were to be brought back I hope I'm given the option to put him out of his misery once again so he can rest in peace because I am not a selfish guardian
-
If he comes back it will be a new ghost and he won't remember anything
-
He won’t come back physically. I do think he will still have a roll in a deep stone crypt storyline, whether that is through audio recordings or writings left for him to help remember through his reboots
-
What if he did return? All sense of fatality would be gone, thus losing any tension the game had. The story would mean nothing as death or any potentially fatal decisions would be null. Just let him die. It’s better this way.
-
Well firstly the vanguard would be very happy with his return. I imagine he'd reclaim his position of hunter vanguard, which in turn would allow all the hunters to return to the tower Nothing big would really happen with him personally however the thing that brought him back would be a very valuable item. It's also possible that he might take his job a little more seriously? Gathering the hunters and setting them out on scouting missions to places like the moon or the dreaming city for more research Oh and as for Uldren? Cayde doesn't strike me as the vengeful type so maybe he'd forgive him
-
Well my brain would burst into flames as I comprehended the narrative idiocy of bringing Cayde back. But I’ll leave that at that. People can have their fun here with a little dabbling in fanfiction.
