Lets compare the state of the game to a cookie.
The fan base asked for a larger and longer lasting cookie at which point Bungie decided to take this cookie and feed it to us bit by bit while ensuring that it's stale and takes forever to chew. We are expected to believe that each piece of Cookie is special but it's only ever a minor tweak on their already existing recipe of Grind, Hype and Reworked Horde modes that never compare to how amazing Prison of Elders use to be. I've stayed with the franchise because of the nostalgia left from D1, and because every once in a while Bungie bakes a cookie that's at least edible. At this point though D2s grind is ridiculous and the seasonal activities all feel like reworks of things they've already tried. And this cookie, if not eaten by the end of the season is thrown out and replaced with yet another recipe that only has minor tweaks and restarts the chewing process of this hard stale cookie all over again.
We don't want your stale hard to chew cookie.
We want Curry, some thing spiceful and full of life. We want narratives that feel connected and that have proper endings, we want new interesting content that surprises us and innovates the way we play, we want some thing to breath new life back into this franchise. The next Big DLC needs to blow our minds or you will loose mass qaunties of players and you might never get us back. Make the game feel like fresh spicy Curry not an old stale cookie that feels like work just to chew.
You've so much Lore to build good narratives upon, so much potential in terms of level design or new types of enemies. If only you would try harder. There is so much you could do with the Drifter and the Vanguard, I wouldn't mind a faction war similar to WoW. Gambit is a good base to build similar PvEvP content upon. We need things like more adventures on every location, ally npcs wandering the patrol zones that give out the patrols instead of batons, make the world feel more immersive and lived in, we need more Strikes and a large scale vendor refresh that updates every vendors inventory and makes each of them feel relevant.
Destiny 2 is capable of being much more than a stale cookie that no one wants to chew, it could be a flavorful Curry with Lamb and Naan.
Now I'm hungry Darn it all. (begrudgingly chews her cookie.)

Also new bounties are not new activities either bungie. Neither are new difficulties. Making something harder, is not making it new Additional/different enemies to an old map whilst novel is also not new. And nothing is still fun after the 500th time in a week.
