[Disclaimer: this post is mostly about fanfic, with only a tiny bit about lore, so feel free to skip over it if you’re not interested]
Hello everyone! As the title states, today is the third anniversary of my first Destiny fanfic, Blank Slate, which began April 16th, 2017. This event is special for me because it is the first in a long line of stories I wrote for Destiny, marking the beginning of a long journey and my rise to power.
So what’s this post for? First (to appease those who want some lore) I’m going to give you a curious lore detail relating to Blank Slate and how it predicted a Destiny 2 Subclass. Then I’ll say a little bit about Blank Slate with an offer for you guys to get some of your ideas featured in Lost In Thought. Finally, I’ll lay out my plans and schedule for the future and the stuff I’m currently writing.
I name several of my stories in this post, and you’ll notice the names sometimes appear in yellow text. These are links that you can open to the Tables of Contents for my stories. Or you could simply follow this link to my Master Post, for access to all my posts.
Lore Talk:
So, a curious fact about Blank Slate. Keis, the main character, is a Voidwalker. I was always very interested in Destiny 1’s Energy Drain melee, where the Guardian uses the Void to eradicate an enemy and absorb energy from them. I always thought this idea could have been developed further.
So, when writing Blank Slate, I put Energy Drain into overdrive. I thought, what if a Guardian could use Energy Drain to keep killing opponents and draining their energy, creating an infinite murder machine of constant death and regeneration? And so Keis became my little experiment with the possibilities of Energy Drain, draining the life-force of his enemies to heal himself and fuel his abilities.
Then Destiny 2 was released and the Voidwalker Subclass was given the Attunement of Hunger, which followed the same idea.
Long story short, I can predict the future.

Blank Slate and ideas from you readers for Lost In Thought:
Blank Slate was my first Destiny story. It certainly had plenty of flaws but it was funny and had some good stuff in it. The story was discontinued and I eventually started a rewrite of the series called Lost In Thought, with some rather large differences but the same core. This story is still ongoing, though I’ve been writing other things and left the story hanging.
So, those of you who have read Blank Slate or would like to read it now have a chance to help me out with Lost In Thought. Some of you may remember Salem and Keis’s other friends, who haven’t appeared yet in Lost In Thought. Lost In Thought will include several small adventures with Keis and them, but I’ve been having trouble coming up with ideas, especially for Keis x Salem.
If you’d like you can pitch me some ideas for things they could do, wether they be small missions or dangerous strikes, and we can discuss them. No need to come up with entire plots and tiny details, you can simply say something like “What if they take a bounty to hunt a Devils Captain?”
Maybe your ideas will appear in Lost In Thought!
(This can include small crossovers or cameos.)
My Schedule and Plans:
So, here’s what I’m writing now and what I’ll be posting. I recently finished Other Other Half and everything’s kind of up in the air for my readers. As always, I will be posting Saturdays (maybe not every Saturday, depending on how quickly I can write and breaks between stories for cooldown and preparation).
Here’s the lineup:
•18 April, next chapter of Lost In Thought.
•25 April, a lore post concerning a little-known and mysterious Fallen faction.
•2 May, next chapter of Ruthless Winter. This story was put on pause for Other Other Half, but I plan on picking it back up and finishing it.
•9 May, Lost In Thought
•16 May, Ruthless Winter
•23 May, a one-shot story I wrote awhile back (currently untitled). This could perhaps become the introduction to a longer story, if I decide to continue it.
•30 May, the anniversary of the Destiny Fiction Archive. To celebrate the amazing members of the writer community, new and old, I am planning on hosting a writing contest starting this day. When the contest begins I won’t post anything new for as long as it lasts, to avoid adding to the possible spike in fanfics and to focus on reading entries.
But there’s a chance I won’t host a contest. I may decide to do something else.
•After the contest I will work on finishing Ruthless Winter.
•When Ruthless Winter is finished I will begin posting a new story called Wolf Blood.
•I am preparing Upbringing (Book 3 of Remnants, but it functions as a stand-alone story so those who aren’t interested in reading the previous two Books can still jump in) and will begin posting it after Wolf Blood is done, if it is ready for posting.
•I will also make more chapters of Lost In Thought and more lore posts to post every now and then.
•At some point I will post Self and House, which was my entry for Nic’s second writing contest.
Thanks to everyone who’s read my work over the years. It’s been a long journey and I’ve been glad to have y’all with me.
Best wishes,
KS27
