So i just started yesterday playing this game and found it to be really great, graphically and also gameplay is hugely creative and it's completely a game that doesn't exist elsewhere. I also checked the pvp modes and saw that it states competitive on some modes so I thought, cool let's buy this and see where I can end up in the ladder. Sadly today i had to find out, that bungie doesn't know what people expect (i think it's not only me, but everyone who played online games that are competitive) when they read "competitive" on a game mode. Finally what Bungie offers isn't a competitive, but a casual online pvp experience. I'm very disappointed by this and hope this gets "fixed" and we can see some improvement so there's an ACTUAL competitive mode where you have your rank which depending on the games outcome rises or falls (like in every other online game that features competitive gameplay) and you're being queued of course with similar good ppl. That's what we expect, but don't get. That's really sad as I actually wanted to play this with a team that is actually capable of playing this stuff in a team based manner (you know, ppl who talk to each other and play together instead of just somehow/where)... I was looking for some kind of e-sports info for destiny 2 but there isn't any. This might also change if there would be an actual competitive mode available (like in cs:go or overwatch where you have this integrated, but please go towards some style like cs:go and not overwatch league^^). This game is so great, why not entering this as e-sports possibility??? I mean some maps might have to be adjusted especially in crucible modes (imo some maps are too small/have to less space available, the gambit ones are totally fine, but wouldn't this make the game so much more interesting? I mean competitive gameplay is nowadays really higher rated by players and that this is actually missing here is a little frustrating because the game is so great :D And finally the terminology competitive that you are using is very misleading like that! That's not something I can speak good of, I mean I bought it today because I actually thought it would be real competitive^^ ofc I don't want my money back because the game deserves at least double the price of what I just payed but still :) So is there actually some comp-mode like what I'm looking for and I just couldn't find it yet? If not, bungie please think about it ;) This would make the pvp game modes so much better and much more fun. I know it's a huge load of work, especially because then you'd also have to deal with bans etc for toxic people, you'd have to make it impossible to leave a game without getting "punished" but still, you already invested so much that this might really be worth it :) All the best from Switzerland, and good job on this game, it's really really creative and a lot of fun!!
