Power Creep: A new way to increase difficulty for Hardcore Players
Make the pinnacle activities have a mechanic that lessens damage for specific weapons when Fireteam members get kills with that weapon. Example if everyone is getting kills with izanagi's burden then the damage would drop off so severely that it wouldn't be worth using. This would force Fireteams to choose which player or players would equip the power creepy weapons.
You could make it so each that weapon type, archetype and copies of the same weapon would have different tiers of damage drop. Example: everyone in the fire team could have a sniper rifle equipped and the damage drop would not be too bad, as long as there was 2 of each archetype and none of the snipers in each archetype were the same exact weapon. If everyone was using different aggressive frame snipers it would be pretty bad, but if everyone was using the same exact sniper it would be almost impossible to finish a raid.
You could also make a mechanic that makes Guardians more susceptible to damage as they do damage to enemies. The better you are; the harder the game is.
I hope this helps you with the problem of power creep. I only wish to be able to infuse my hard-earned legendary weapons. I'm really losing the drive to play, knowing that all the work I have done to collect weapons means less now.
The new weapons don't have the usual damage and reload enhancing perks I'm used too. This makes me not want to level up my bunkers. You are losing me Bungie. I know it's a small change that won't affect every aspect of the game but it's messing with my mind.
Thanks for reading. I hope this helps.
