So now that basically everything requires a team, (cuz I can’t Even solo a seraph tower) and progress In The game, What do I do now? Im a full time dad with a full time job and when I actually have a moment I need to just be able to turn on and go. I can’t do that anymore, I Love this game but I literally had to shelf it right now. Bring back some soloability would you?
-
Why can't they matchmake everything like Division 2?
-
More matchmaking would help...
-
That’s why I quit.
-
It is a multiplayer game though

I know how it is tough to play with such little time. The Seraph Towers are public events, so don’t worry about that part. Hang out there and once it starts lots of people will show up. Defend the tower with the orange base. Keep enemies off the base. Grab the orange orbs when they drop and throw them at the orange orb moving between the two towers. Then another tower gets an orange base. Defend it and throw more orbs. Continue until event ends.

Edited by Ardour: 3/16/2020 5:23:57 AMAlso, I dont get why trials dont have matchmaking? I mean, they allow you to go there with 960 light to be wrecked by tryhard kids with 1000+ light but at the same time you dont have soloque. Oh, I know "trials has allways been that way" arguaments? Thats it? :) Dis game is weird not because some boring seasons or something, but because of its weird core concept. Sometimes it feels like the game just doesnt want me to play it :) Barriers everywhere.

We have to drop the want for solo egc. I gave up years ago asking bungie. Even tho other MMORPG have solo content (including TD2) you'll get bungie ignoring you and idiots here saying "this is a team based game".

As a busy dad myself, and someone who embraces the solo grind quite a bit, I would say focus on getting your power up through the usual match made activities that reward powerful drops first and foremost. Do your daily Rasputin bounties and as many re-buyable bounties as you can manage and then focus on buying the bunker upgrades that will reduce the upgrade costs and also provide more bits from strikes gambit and crucible to make it easier to complete the rest of the bunker upgrades. In a couple weeks these events are going to be really easy to complete with only a couple of people in the area (I did one very comfortably with 2 randoms the other night) There’s really not a lot you miss out on by not doing the high level activities that aren’t match-made. Most of the raid loot is lackluster and there’s comparable and often better gear available through easier sources. Even the trials loot is relatively unexciting. Don’t feel like you’re missing out on much by not doing these things. When you’re a busy, responsible parent you’re not going to get where you want to as quick as those who have a lot of time to devote, but you will get there

I'm playing mostly solo these days, but am in a clan and can get help when needed (like for the legendary lost sectors or an infrequent raid). I started this season at 961 and am up to 980 power and season pass level 20 is less than a week. All level 1 and 2 perks unlocked in the EDZ bunker along with a couple level 3 perks. The bunker rank is at level 5. I've played a little Crucible for some of the bounties/challenges. I don't do Trials, so not a big deal there. Warmind public events are a waste of time as most people either don't know what to do or just ignore it because they're getting kills for a specific bounty. I'm not a fan of this content and am splitting time with this and BL3 (much more enjoyable now that they've buffed a significant number of legendary weapons!). Regardless, it's not difficult to level up. You just have to play smart and use your vendor tokens to help fill out power levels of gear in under-leveled slots. Beneditc-99 is selling gear at your current base power level. Same for the EDZ vendor Devrim Kay. There are probably others but I haven't tested them. Check them each week because they change at reset. There is usually at least one vendor selling gear at your current base level.

What are you trying to progress ?, if you’re a solo player, what are you gearing up for ?

I'm a solo player as well and have been over the past few years. This year is shaping up to be one if the better ones for solo players especially once they change and add more pinicle drop locations adding them to strike pvp and gambit weekly changes... as a solid player I might actually be able to hit the pinicle cap this season.

Seeing this complaint more and more. Again this is just my opinion, so please take no offense, but multiplayer games are meant to be played as a multiplayer. Saying destiny shoulder cater to single plays is as if saying God if war, Spider-Man, horizon zero dawn, etc, should all have multiplayer modes because I want to play with my friends. Games should not have to cater to every single persons play styles, desires, wants and needs. If a game doesn’t suit your life style, swap. At the end of the day, it’s a game.
-
This has been an ongoing problem forever. I don't think it's going to change, unfortunately. It's a struggle for solo players and Bungie designed it that way. Why? To try and force people to invite their friends to buy the game.
-
Solo players still can't get golf balls..so dumb that we only have 2 ways of getting them in the game apart from spending heaps just to get one. Would be great if solo players could get a pinnacle drop as well for playing solo
-
I would like to second this request. As one who is a recreational gamer and at the moment the subscriber of what is "Dial-up" like internet speeds; I live in a rural area...out of respect to the other gamers I don't do trials, gambit, and very seldom do strikes. My current emotes include a thank you and salute for the strikes I attempt and the players who actually continue to play. I'm sure they no I'm lagging.

Primarily a solo player here! Every so often I play with girlfriend when she has time. I play about an hour or so each morning with my coffee. Sometimes I sneak an hour after work. I don't know why people bother so heavily with the public event anyway. Its absolutely terrible for progression this season. I just do my Bunker bounties alongside my Banshee dailes. I've already pretty much ranked up my Bunker
-
I’m pretty much a solo player and I don’t agree with this as an overall statement. I don’t like this season being focussed around a public event though. Should have been a matchmade activity instead of hoping enough people come along.
-
Sounds like you need to find a good single player game. There are plenty of them out there.
-
Use bungie fireteam or wait for 2 mins. 😂😂 honestly this post
-
The way you put it, it sounds more like a personal problem than a solo player problem. Destiny was never meant to be a solo experience. Either get a clan or drop Destiny. Assuming you have your priorities straight.
-
Don't worry, soon nobody will have jobs to go to because we'll all be welded into our apartments. Plenty of time to play games when that happens.
-
Well unfortunately bungie has us going into modes some dont enjoy. I would do comp, there seems to be good drops in comp.
-
The best thing to do is pick up some bounties that can be done in the EDZ. Go to Winding Cove and while you’re there waiting for 4 or 5 more people to show up, run those bounties and patrol missions in that area. Eventually there will be enough people for the event to be done successfully. Also, you’ll be working on something and not just waiting. It’s more efficient. You may arrive in Winding Cove and find the Seraph Tower already in progress. In that case, just jump in and have fun. It’s all good.....
-
Just keep playing freelance competitive. You'll get powerful drops consistently. You don't get penalized for losing, so you'll inevitably keep ranking up and getting powerful drops. It's also SBMM so you shouldn't get pub stomped to much.
-
Go to seraph and start the event players get pulled to you instance. I've done this dozens of times
