So now that basically everything requires a team, (cuz I can’t Even solo a seraph tower) and progress In The game, What do I do now? Im a full time dad with a full time job and when I actually have a moment I need to just be able to turn on and go. I can’t do that anymore, I Love this game but I literally had to shelf it right now. Bring back some soloability would you?

Stop lying to me and yourself

Sorry mate. I wish this game was more accessible for solo players who don’t have lot of time.

Edited by Brobot: 3/17/2020 12:27:10 PMYou could say I'm a full time solo player. In short speeches - I can say that looking for loopholes in the game and trying to break through here and there as a solo player is endlessly complicated in this game. However, I try to keep up with the nolifers and the elitists. I have practically everything I want, a fully done whisper mission, an outbreak mission, and catalysts, ships, got Izanagi solo, grinded solo soltice armor, and so on and on. You just have to accept that playing solo in this game you just won't get anything you want, but you can get other weapons that will be just as good as raid weapons and so on. I have no Recluse or Mountain top - but I honed my skills with FIghting Lion, Orenwings moul. I have Multi kill clip, outlaw Subjunctive, Masterworked huckleberry and so on and on. The only thing is that there should always be a choice in the game. Freedom of choice. Otherwise, the game loses some of its potential by targeting only one group of players.

Since Destiny 1 you were never able to reach the highest rewards without having a pre mate group to play with. That always was the intention of Bungie what I can undestand (It often is a pain for me too for the same reason). But one has to understand that endgame rewards are reserved for the people that have the time to invest it.

Edited by Insatiable: 3/17/2020 2:05:50 PMI can see why you would be frustrated , the seraph towers are painfully annoying and boring. It also sucks that even one enemy slipping your defenses means less orbs to throw are dropped , when half the time there are invis vandals running pretty damn quick off spawn into the support tower. They need to address that activity in the first place . As for trials, your SoL , it's always been a non match-made activity so I recommend just using the lfg app if you desire to play the mode , it takes just about as much time as this post to find a team with.

Kid you play on a console that can connect to the internet. Which in turns mean you have access to make friends with other people on the internet. Do you see where I’m going with this.
-
Pc or console? Pc LFG has 200k players, all you have to do is post your join ID in an LFG and you’ve got 10 people in orbit with you. Console but trickier but still quick to make a post and invite those who respond. You will save time by taking the time to seek out other players. If you wanna play solo I’d recommend Doom eternal which is releasing soon. Destiny has always been a multiplayer game with the option to tackle activities solo, not the other way around.

Couldn't agree more. Solo player with a family and a 60 hour a week job and honestly this game has little to nothing to offer solo players any more. I used to be able to solo things that while challenging were attainable, now because of the hardcore community and content creators everything is gear to them. Losing interest very rapidly.
-
I'm still going solo and making progress. It's been slower than I'd like, but I'm getting there regardless.
-
I agree with all that. I'm single parent of two girls and I work full time. I've been enjoying the division 2😊
-
Tbf, I don’t think game has ever been geared towards solo players, but this season definitely doesn’t make it easy on solo players who are not at powerful cap
-
I’m a husband and dad of 2, have been since destiny 1 launched. I have a full time job, and I am primarily a solo player. I am currently at 1011 light, and I got there only having to run 1 single raid, that means I only had to use my mic once. And I could’ve gotten there without having to do the raid. I’m not doing this to be a jerk, but I took a look at your characters, and I’ve noticed you haven’t played much at all recently. It looks like a couple of your 700’s characters still had the blue gear that we got from season of opulence to infuse our power levels up to current, but I could be mistaken. This leads me to believe that you are not necessarily a “solo player”, you are more along the lines of a “casual player”. I do not mean any disrespect by that. It is fine to be however you want to be. But you have the same limitations as I do, and there is just a small difference between us: I have made the game my hobby and you have not. There are plenty of ways for you to stay up with the top tier players, but you’re never going to find those ways unless you put the time in. And maybe you don’t want to. But if you don’t want to put the time in, then I strongly suggest picking a different franchise. Because the game is VERY solo friendly, but it is NOT casual friendly.

BUMP!!! Sadly imstuck in a second shift job so little to none of my friends i play with are on line so it makes it really hard to enjoy the game when i have to have people to play it and at best i get the norm of blueberries

Since I cant make a topic I will say it here....your player progression sux your competitive play sux csnt progress in game with cheaters and hackers and assholes from destiny community and got nothin better to do then harass a player such as myself particularly in the Gambit because of a bogus ban so now I get harrassed when there is more then one player on a fireteam... and now the community make it hard for players like me to experience the game because you allow this bullshit to happen.... right now your game is a piece of shit
-
Nah. I was sceptical at first, but get yer load out right - learn the event - earn gear
-
I'm also a full-time worker, and I work at nights. I joined a discord with a relatively active Destiny group, so I play with them a little before going to work. Join a Discord with a group of friends from irl, or find one where there is a relatively active player group, and that'll solve the solo thing. As for the level up thing, I hope you get lucky with drops.

Maybe... 🤔 Level up is overstated.

Full time job and a solo player. 2 days to prep for trials and got over 1k on all 3 characters 🤷♂️. Lfg for the pinnacle drops only and you need a mic only for the raid.
-
I don’t wanna sound like a dick or anything, but why would someone spend all this money to play a game like this and not play with people? It’s not really a single player type of game.
-
Bungie just told solo players to find a new game.
-
I love it but I think what you're looking for is a casual game. Me too tbh. A looter shooter is not a casual game. An MMO is not a casual game (for me). D2 is BOTH of those so .... yah .. not a casual game. But there are loads of game modes that have matchmaking so what's a dev gotta do? You have most of pvp, most of the strikes, all of gambit, all the story, every planet map and most of the exotic quests. Maybe we need to accept that we will never get 1k voices, anarchy, divinity, izanagi's etc... maybe that's fine?
-
I feel this. As bad as Anthem was you could do everything. Why? Match made activities. I get on and do basic crucible, my destinations, my bounties and that’s it. Haven’t even felt the need to do the new stuff bc if I do find a new gun, it’ll be made less optimal after a few months. But yeah as a solo player I struggle to stay relevant. But then I guess Destiny is geared more towards team based play anyways. Oh well.
-
When Bungie learns that solo players make up a decent chunk of their audience and embraces that audience, Bungie will reap the rewards.
-
So, would you like something like this example then? Have a decent-difficulty, arena-type activity with something like 3 or 6-player matchmaking normally, but add a solo activity option where you are by yourself but the activity is a lot more forgiving. Maybe add a standard firewalled option as well for those solo players that would like to preserve the challenge. That's probably a possible compromise. Wouldn't really work with public events though.
-
Amen, brother! I don't know how many quests I can't even complete. Like I'm supposed to solo a nightfall with a 100 handicap? And let's not even talk about raids.
