“So, what’d you think of the Bloods?”
Rodan furrowed his brows, gazing at the ship as it disappeared into a rift. He gave a short -blam!- that came out as more of a roar, followed by a few clicks.
“Really? They don’t look that old.”
The monstrous pteranodon made a clicking sound again, making a small movement with his wings to show a large size. Izuma laughed at his description, then walked inside.
“I thought they were very polite, albeit a little clueless.”
Rodan softly growled, scratching the ground.
“Fine, we’ll check out the graveyard. Let me finish the scan, and we’ll saddle up. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find her!”
Izuma closed the door behind her, and Rodan was left alone. Planting himself with his wings, he breathed a pillar of fire into the sky.
Scene change
In a large, dark hangar bay strode a grey figure. Spreading his wings, the equine trotted to the center in order to stretch. Metallic feathers glinted in the faint light, each razor sharp.
With a sudden twist, the figure launched a volley of feathers like knives at a wall. The attack wasn’t very accurate, and the feathers showed how off he was.
Undaunted, the equine launched another volley. The feathers were slightly closer, forming a wide shotgun-blast-esque pattern on the wall. Again and again he launched volleys, the feathers never seeming to be lost.
“You’re getting there,” said a calm, female voice from the door behind him.
The equine smirked, turning around and folding his wings.
“We all are. Some of us… a little slower than others.”
“Not everyone can recover from a year of insanity. I’d say that’s an achievement.”
“Starting an Order of knights ain’t too shabby either.”
The equine smiled, and walked forward as the new figure embraced him.
“I… I thought you were lost…” she said through tears.
“So did I. But we can rebuild, make reparations for what I’ve done.”
Zbruh wrapped her in his wings, and the two stood in silent understanding.
We shall leave this touching scene of a reunion, and find another stage being set.
In a foggy forest filled pocketed with rocky hills, a skeleton was hiking. He stumbled along, dragging a broken ankle. Clad in basic armor and holding a rusted blade in his hand, the undead horror trudged on with undying fortitude.
The skeleton approached a clear hill, and saw a monstrous figure. White scales covered his entire body and tail, and large, white wings stuck out from his back. The eyes were yellow, half concealed by his sandy blonde hair.
The two stood 20 feet or so from each other, and more undead followed from the woods. They piled into the clearing, responding to the call of the draconic creature.
“You have fought before, I will let you fight again.”
The monster roared, and lush green vines spread from his body to the undead around. The vines wrapped around the joints, strengthening them. Roots sprang up to reinforce the feet, and flowers bloomed from their eyes. The plants entwined around the zombie’s hands, and they raised their blades.
“My lovely friends, you can be as beautiful as a flower. And you..”
The yellow eyes stared into the first skeleton.
“You will be their leader.”
The vines wrapped twice as thick around him, giving strength and stability to his rickety bones. Flowers bloomed from his eyes and mouth, and thorns emerged atop his plant helmet. Scales began to form on the chest and arms, then moved over his entire body. When they finished, eldritch hide had enveloped the undead warrior.
“Go, find your friends. We will need more.”
The yellow eyes flittered, like a computer glitch, sparking with multicolored energy. With a roar, the monster took to the skies. The undead obeyed, and dispersed.
