Politics was taboo then. And tho it was before my time, it was as far as I can tell, a golden age. From a trolling/shit posting perspective, rules just make shenanigans that much better. I for one am not giving up on offtopic. I want this to be the dawn of a new age that will give us this generation's porch day and clockman. All we need is a little more imagination, and a little less toxicity to build for ourselves a new empire more glorious than the last.

It was cleaner then, though nothing was perfect and forum drama still occurred. Though I found it understandable at the time, the influx of new members from Destiny's release would have overwhelmed the ninjas. This reinstating of the old rule wipes away a good chunk of low effort posts that filled the forum with trash. I'm pleased to see it returned after these past few years, nothing good ever really came out of them besides mild enjoyment for some, and toxicity for others. A lot of people have been bemoaning "the death of Offtopic" over this, as if this forum was only a political and religious forum. It's not, and should have never fulfilled such a role in my opinion. In fact, if the moderation team goes to where I think it's going we'll be returning to the more quiet days of Bnet where "quiet" is the equivalent of "not being overfilled with trash and hate". This includes the Destiny forums, or how a lot of people refer to them as, the salt mines. Quite a few good members of our community left over this (heck I left in part because of this for a time), and I'm afraid how the Destiny forums are now also deters good members from staying. I agree with Cobra down below, all it did was cause division amongst community members. Nothing good ever came out of it, and it never will. edit: ok cobras post above cuz im too loved
