You're missing the potential of factions as a whole
I feel like bungie is missing out on a huge potential when it comes to factions as vendors. Faction rally was fun and all but it didn't offer anything at the time since none of the weapons could be randomly roles. That held back faction rally from the start since only a couple guns were worth while. It just felt like it was something you could've posted online for the winners and we could've went on with our day honestly.
Factions as vendors in current Destiny 2 though has been missed potential since Destiny. With all of the DLCs and now seasonal events, factions could've provided a gate way to those events for more than just a few months. Imagine Future War Cult sold weapons and armor one season that had perks pertaining to the managerie that gave players an advantage. New Monarchy providing strike specific perks for that same season. Dead Orbit the same season for say crucible or Gambit or hell even sundial. The advantage of each faction could've changed weekly or seasonly. I feel like there could've been flavor to just more than running weekly activities and dailies.
It just feels like such a wasted discard from what existed in the game. More so because a faction rally was all they had in mind.
