This post intends to include discussion of the cutscene that aired at reset; please go and watch that cutscene before going further into this post. This is your final spoiler warning ⚠️!!!
so. It basically confirms one thing we knew/assumed since the vidoc. Rasputin will be involved/heavily involved in season 10.
What is most surprising is the fact it will continue on some level the darkness storyline.
A line has been drawn in this system! Light on one side, Dark on the other; where do you stand?
Imo this is the most interesting part. Personally I didn’t think they’d continue it. But it brings up possibilities of what we’re to expect. Either something regarding us finding out more about the darkness; Or an allegiance style quest between Rasputin and Osiris.
Obviously we still have that whole hive possibility but I’m starting to think that’s not what we’ll see.
Considering what Osiris says:
The tower looks at you and sees a god; But I look at you and see a thug. A murderer. Betrayer.
I wonder if we’re finally going to see this tyrant side of him.
Either way; what does everyone else think?

I don’t necessarily see a conflict between Osiris and Rasputin, more so between Rasputin and humanity. There is no conflict that is exclusive to these two. The actual conflict will be between the two moralities of Rasputin: Saving himself and saving humanity. I also think that Osiris’s role in this is acting as the reminder to Rasputin. They are some of the few individuals that not only know what is coming, but have have also seen. But they are the only two that have seen the consequences of what’s coming. Osiris saw it in the Forest and Rasputin lived through the collapse. That’s why Osiris was the one two remind Rasputin about his past betrayal, since he knows how dire the situation is. In general, this is a beautiful mirror of Rasputin’s most important choice ever and will therefore somewhat concluded a personal arc. Rasputin has had to deal with the consequences of the choice he made during the collapse and now he has to make that choice again, but in a changed world. Not that he seems to have any regrets, but the prospect of facing his biggest defeat again might trigger something in him. I hope Bungie makes Rasputin his own character and actually separates him from Ana in this season.
