This post intends to include discussion of the cutscene that aired at reset; please go and watch that cutscene before going further into this post. This is your final spoiler warning ⚠️!!!
so. It basically confirms one thing we knew/assumed since the vidoc. Rasputin will be involved/heavily involved in season 10.
What is most surprising is the fact it will continue on some level the darkness storyline.
A line has been drawn in this system! Light on one side, Dark on the other; where do you stand?
Imo this is the most interesting part. Personally I didn’t think they’d continue it. But it brings up possibilities of what we’re to expect. Either something regarding us finding out more about the darkness; Or an allegiance style quest between Rasputin and Osiris.
Obviously we still have that whole hive possibility but I’m starting to think that’s not what we’ll see.
Considering what Osiris says:
The tower looks at you and sees a god; But I look at you and see a thug. A murderer. Betrayer.
I wonder if we’re finally going to see this tyrant side of him.
Either way; what does everyone else think?

Osiris may have the lights best interest in mind but Rasputin has humanities best interest I believe that Osiris is afraid Rasputin will determine the best course for humanities survival is to flee again and he may want to put a stop to it I don’t think Rasputin will be an enemy ,the Warmind has always been a favourite of the community so it’d be weird for him to suddenly be an enemy ,plus we have been building up for years to get him on our side and after the Warmind DLC he is Osiris is going to face Rasputin but more so put him in his place ,Rasputin may be all powerful but the problem is that he knows it ,he states “I have no equal” numerous times in the lore . Osiris is just trying to show him that he may have been a big fish in a small pond before, but this fish has been thrown into the ocean and now it’s time to act

I'd also like to know how Saint 14 will fit in to this going forward.
-
Wonder if this will lead to a vote thingy like from Season of the Drifter...
-
It would be amazing if Rasputin goes rogue and becomes a Raid boss. Then being helped by the most powerful Guardian to ever exist during the Raid.
-
We are going find out Rasputin pull a zero Dawn (let mankind take a massive hit to save humanity). He saw all it coming because of the FWC device build during the golden age a warmind help on the project. An hopefully we finally get concrete evidence that’s bray family wasn’t the good people history show them to be

Am I the only one that quite literally heard Rasputin say "Darkness?" At the end of the cutscene, I could hear him say (in his mildly difficult to understand voice) Darkness in response to Osiris. . . So, I take it we finally get to fight him. Which I honestly can't wait to do, considering he tried to use the Yang Liwei as a long range artillery platform, even though they were trying to escape the system (in effect). For one thing, I will always side with science and exploration (and it would probably be a bad artillery platform, tbh. Ground based artillery will almost always be more powerful and accurate). For another, if Rasputin had succeeded in stopping the Yang, the best species would not exist (long live our greatest queen) and therefore, neither would the last city (given the awoken of the reef stopped house of wolves, if I remember correctly) or 1/3 of us guardians.

For those that are wondering what Rasputin said. He said, "Are you threatening me?" in Russian of course.

I haven’t thought about this in a long time but if SIVA is gonna be a main enemy in the season (since they are basically dark Rasputin) then will the Hive also made an appearance? I have an intresting theory on how SIVA is made and I’ll just sum it up; Hive corruption + Warsat = SIVA

This is where we find out that
Rasputin was the Doritos shaped ship at the end of the red war campaigns lol 😂
-
I think Osiris used the Infinite Forest to see Rasputin’s actions during the time of the collapse and isn’t happy with it nor does he fully understand the choice. I’m not expecting anything monumental story wise such as an evil Rasputin or changing alliances because this is Seasonal content and not a static DLC. Since Rasputin is a static DLC his character will resume the same role he had previous to the season: mysterious but a non-combatant.

D3: Rasputin builds the Death Star and destroys earth
-
It was a slapped together cut scene that tells you nothing, answers nothing, implies nothing, and ultimately only states " Oh hey, remember RASPUTIN? THE GREATEST WARMIND EVER THAT WE ABANDONED ... 4 stories ago? ... LOOK! ITS RASPUTIN!". I remember when this game had fun and comedy ... its been devoid of that for nearly 2 years.
I'm curious why Osiris is written as believing that "the Tower looks at you and sees a God..." since I'm certain Zalava doesn't see it that way, Ikora and Shaxx I don't think we've had official recounts toward Rasputin. Everyone else doesn't really matter when it comes to official business. I doubt the Guardian sees Rasputin as a 'God'. For goodness sake we had to come to his rescue in Warmind a few times. He couldn't even shove off a few Cabal that were intruding on his front door. It just sounds like a strange line that doesn't sound quite like it fits. I'm interested in what exactly Osiris saw in the Infinite Forest that made him leave though and confront Rasputin.
I think Rasputin said "Buff Sleeper and make the catalyst available to non-raiders."
-
I bet Osiris wants to look cool but he is quite the opposite. Okay he came to Rasputing threatning him with scout rifle. Well, dis character allway was dumbass but dis is a new level. Unless hes scout rifle shoots tatical nukes.

Brother Vance is going to turn into a dreg and rename himself to the Yeeter of Yotes! He whacks his enemies with massive stick and throws Potato bombs. A true enemy of the Light shall rise!
-
I know this isn’t really possible, but can someone PLEASE banish BoopBot until he can connect the dots with a few Byf videoes?!

I know what Rasputin said at the end
priv'yet malish
Edited by confugamus: 2/19/2020 8:40:24 AMAnother dead end to drag on speculation for a year, i.e. Uldren. This takes no effort and strings us along endlessly. Cynical programming/marketing at its most predictable. Thank the gods that Half Life Alyx and The Last of Us Part 2 are imminent and I can shed this bad habit like it deserves.

I don't follow much lore but here's my take Osiris is questioning wether Rasputin is the protective A.I. we have seem him as. So in order to protect Rasputin maybe from Osiris launcing an attack on Rasputin we must go through a Trial, Trials of the worthy? Or a PvE version of Trials. And when we do well idk

Hopefully EP is getting a facelift/refresh.

Personally I want to finally find out whether Rasputin knew about the Moon Pyramid given the Moon AI attempting to report back to him was cut off. If he didn’t, I want to see what effect seeing a Pyramid would have on him given the fact he’s fought the Darkness before. Would it finally convince him to join us properly? Because make no mistake, Rasputin has had a questionable past. He betrayed humanity by abandoning his defence of our system in order to go into hibernation as he saw it as the only chance of survival. He unleashed SIVA on the Iron Lords And has annihilated Guardians sent into Old Russia to make contact with him. Even with Ana all we’ve gotten is a hand with the Dreaming City through some analysis. Rasputin needs to decide whether he’ll continue his isolation or join with this Last Alliance of Men and Awoken.

Osiris has some big ol balls threatening an A.I. that can annihilate you from orbit.

I don’t necessarily see a conflict between Osiris and Rasputin, more so between Rasputin and humanity. There is no conflict that is exclusive to these two. The actual conflict will be between the two moralities of Rasputin: Saving himself and saving humanity. I also think that Osiris’s role in this is acting as the reminder to Rasputin. They are some of the few individuals that not only know what is coming, but have have also seen. But they are the only two that have seen the consequences of what’s coming. Osiris saw it in the Forest and Rasputin lived through the collapse. That’s why Osiris was the one two remind Rasputin about his past betrayal, since he knows how dire the situation is. In general, this is a beautiful mirror of Rasputin’s most important choice ever and will therefore somewhat concluded a personal arc. Rasputin has had to deal with the consequences of the choice he made during the collapse and now he has to make that choice again, but in a changed world. Not that he seems to have any regrets, but the prospect of facing his biggest defeat again might trigger something in him. I hope Bungie makes Rasputin his own character and actually separates him from Ana in this season.

To me it confirms what I have long suspected. Rasputin shot down the Traveler to prevent it from leaving. Whether that is because the Traveler seeds worlds for consumption by the darkness (another longtime theory of mine) or because the Traveler was just leaving to preserve itself I don't know. Either way, Rasputin saved our asses and Osiris doesn't know that yet.

Yes let’s discuss bungies get ready to pay another 10$ so you don’t miss out on content we know your paying for but will remove in 3 months anyway trailer since that’s probably one of maybe 2 cutscenes we will get to tell the story. The rest will be lore they expect us to read since their to lazy to make decent content anymore
