Bungie keeps giving us new armor mods each season but we haven't seen any new weapon mods for over a year

Upvote for new weapon mods. Get the word out there mate!   • Honestly I think perks should be part of the mods system. Swappable sights, mags, etc. you could have them be specific to each individual weapon, or entire archetypes, and you’d have to actually dismantle a looted one with the perks to acquire it. Have collections just give an empty version of it where you add what you want out of what you’ve acquired. Maybe limit it to one perk acquired per dismantle. Lord knows we get enough stuff to take apart. At least I think that would be cool... 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • I'd just like to see "chasing x weapon" being one of the core gameplay mechanics to "chase x item that let's you swap one perk". Mods arent that big of a deal. Perks are. Say you have Grave Robber and Multi Killclip, but you want Feeding Frenzy instead of Grave Robber (if it's in that weapons pool). So you use Glass Needles like item to reroll GR. That slot is now locked so it is the only one you can ever change. Maybe you dont get Feeding Frenzy, but you can grind out another consumable and try again. Maybe you got a god roll auto rifle but it has 2 long zoom scopes, reroll one scope until it's short or medium. Or, Bungie could do new mods and a perk swap system.

    • Some good ones there, for sure. I would support most of these depending on the gun(s). I'd like to see dual wield mods, too.

      Weapons 2.0 light concept: Masterworked weapons save the perks to the list you'd see wherever you'd see the giant perk lists. Collections roll can be crafted as a fixed roll of any combination of saved perks. (is already MW too, like how pinnacles are) Build the god roll.

    • We technically have gotten weapon mods since. Barrier, unstoppable and overload. I would like to see them make some perks into mods. Like osmosis or elemental capacitor, etc.

      • i believe they are using the new armor system, to test what will work for a similar system, for weapons. no need to break everything at once. i'm not saying they will actually implement what works, just that they are testing the waters.

        • I was just thinking that we need a reloading mod. Currently we have mods that help with stability, handling and aim assist. But nothing to boost reload

              • Enemy specs? Yes. Kill clip specs? No. Reload specs? No. Stability specs? Maybe. Disruption specs? Sure. Cluster Bomb spec? Maybe. Explosive Rounds spec? Definitely. How about some armor piercing or high cal mods? Sight mods? Maybe a mod for field prep?
