Has anybody else experienced this? This is most frustrating in GoS on Gambit team as I tend to sometimes press down on R3 while aiming and unintentionally proc the finisher and if the enemy is dead before finisher animation concludes I am insta-killed by the lethal architects. I have since remapped my R3 button to an emote button which has resolved the problem for me, however insta-dying if the enemy dies before finisher animation needs to be looked at. If I am able to edit this post I will try to save video clip and upload of this happening.

Like things like dregs or captains would die somehow ad the finisher started and I would conclude the action and keep going. But against servitors or harpies it seems to be slightly different in how it applies the damage. Edit for further insight: It's like with masterwork orbs especially on harpies or explosive shanks. They almost never spawn on the enemy for me when they die the orb spawns on top of me. Or sometimes dragonfly or explosive pyre would explode at my feet when I proc'd it on a harpy or explosive shank. Somehow finishers must be handled similarly to masterwork orbs or certain perks. This would make sense because when I've seen others use special or heavy finisher on targets the ammo sorta flops out of the player that activated it and not the enemy. Similar to how masterwork orbs from other players fly out of the player and not their, now dead, target.

Finishers were a gimmick and didn't flesh out the gameplay at all. Change my mind.

Happened to me enough times to only do finishers to complete bounties.

Edited by Lord Magris: 2/5/2020 11:28:34 PMI actually reported this issue to Bungie with a video when I found a way to freeze the game while replicating the glitch. I've been told by one of the BNGHelps that they sent it in for an investigation, so it might get fixed sometime in the near future. The suicide part of the glitch seems to mostly happen when the enemy's body or part of it despawns while you are performing a finisher on it. Either way, it always happens when they die or stop existing.

You sure that you aren't being shot at? You can still die to gunfire even while doing a finisher. Also that's hilarious.

Finishing your team mates by accident is fun though 👍 Nice idea, badly implemented especially as there is no protection once animation starts - so why bother having things that trigger regeneration after when you die whilst it’s running - where are the immunity frames

Ive only has it happen like maybe twice out of a gazillion times, and it was my fault cause i tried it when i was in a bad position with wo many AI. If any of yall have played apex legends the same thing hapoens if u try it at the wrong time, someone starts shooting u and the animation stops and u die. Same thing in cod modern warfare as well. Dont try to do it in the wrong situation

I've had this happen, but only when I use a finisher on an exploding enemy. So if I activate a finisher on a cursed thrall, but they die as I enter the animation, It'll kill me instead.
