My main point
This makes content less exciting (because of constant spoilers) and over faster. These are the roots of the games largest problems and biggest complaints of the community right now.
My subjective rant
With YouTube - We have all the answers a click and 10 min away. We immediately have someone in a video to show us the EASIEST and FASTEST ways to beat the game.
And we wonder why it isn't fun...
Beating things by ourselves by using problem solving and curiosity is cornerstone to great videogames. You're supposed to get stuck and then finally figure it out and be the happiest ever.
Good videogames don't give you all the answers, they give you hints along the way and challenge you to think differently.

I think that is just the nature of technology. This puzzle seems to be intended to be worked on by a group, so the more people you have working on it, the faster you will come to the solution. Without youtube, I am sure people would still do the same, but release a document to help others that are lazier with the process. This mindset has always been prevalent in schools when it comes to testing, I think it is simply human nature. Really, I think it is fine. I am trying to do it with myself and a few buddies to enjoy the experience, but I do not care if others simply copy the answers instead of doing the work themselves. If I get frustrated, I would possibly look to getting answers as well. Now, if those same people complain that the experience was too easy even though they waited to copy the answers, then they have themselves to blame.

Ehm...I mean...play the game your way...if you want to figure stuff out yourself, if you want some good tips on what weapons/subclasses to try instead go watch youtube
-
You... don't have to... watch it? No one is forcing you to
-
What? Then don’t watch videos on the game?!
-
If YouTube is taking the fun out of the game for you, why are you watching it? I’ve never watched a D2 YouTube video. I don’t know why someone would: unless it was to try to improve on something that had been unsuccessfully attempted at least once before.
-
If only there were a way to not watch YouTube videos...
-
Emm dont watch them then 🤔🤔
-
Destiny and Youtube have always been a thing.
-
Idk about this one chief... this sounds like a bit of a reach

Edited by The Gung Ho Guns: 1/15/2020 1:00:14 AMThis isn't a "great game" it's a mediocre timesink that everyone uses until the next new game releases. Once we finish that game we come back and kill more time in D2 and repeat the cycle. The raids are boring and have stupid or convoluted mechanics, "quests" are 99% kill things over and over for 1k kills or so, NOTHING in D2 is interesting or fun. YT ruins jackshit. You can't blame something like that for making the game not fun. That's JUST the game. The biggest complaints in the community isn't that "oh, youtube had a video on it and it made me not have fun" it's "Destiny is in a pisspoor state because the're nothing to actually DO, just grind.

I'd like to agree on some secrets, but as for most of the game being about mmo it is not inherently bad to function with guides and helpful videos. Most of the guides I have seen have been healthy for the game, such as perk and stat guides along with good farming spots. I understand frustration over raids and special quests (Whisper, Etc.) or even dungeons, but to limit the conversation to all of destiny videos is unfair. Streamer culture is definitely an issue with creating metas or making bungie do unjust nerfs or buffs. But taking it out on all videos again, is unfair. Remember some of the community has a few hours to kill, not days on finding all the Xenophage steps.
-
If a youtuber started using an auto rifle and only shower clips of the auto doing well then 80% of the community would then start using auto rifles. People don’t understand that youtubers and streamers only provide perceived metas. There are a couple of hidden weapons and builds in the game that I’m amazed no one has spoken about it yet. There is one exotic in particular for titans that break pve and pvp and no one uses it. I wont say anything else about it though, I don’t want crucible to break for the next 2-3 weeks lol.

YouTuber uses gun.... Next hour Sees gun in crucible
-
Extremely unlikely
-
You do know you don't have to go on YouTube?
-
This is your own fault. You chose to watch the videos instead. Some of us don't feel like investing hundreds of hours into a simple puzzle only to find out theres more. If someone took the time to figure it out, then good for them, I will gladly use their solution because it still requires my input.
We have all the answers a click and 10 min away.
It's optional to use it though isn't it? Or does someone tie you to a chair and force you to watch YouTube videos?
-
Bold of you to assume I use YouTube. I refuse to encourage the streamer culture that has infected gaming. Sure, I'll search something up on the forums or Reddit sometimes. But I'll never support streamer culture.
