I'm gonna take this opportunity to post another link to the #lore forum discord that was made https://discord.gg/sMmvDk.
Warlocks on a whole, pretty OP in general. Well, StormTrance, Chaos Reach, Nova Bomb you get the picture. So who is the most powerful warlock mentioned in the lore? Lets discuss.
Note - I am going to list every warlock who has appeared in destiny's lore then probably thanos a good 3/4's of em out of the list till we have just the big leagues in there.
Note 2 - this will also consider "dead" characters and include them in the final list.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
list of Warlocks (and where specific ones appear in the lore):
- Ikora Rey
- Osiris
- Toland, The Shattered One
- Ulan-Tan
- Arnour of the Praxic Order
- Taeko-3 of the Praxic Order
- Eriana-3 of the Praxic Order
- Unknown mentor of the Praxic Order (from the Wings of Sacred Dawn lore tab)
- Unknown student of the Praxic Order (from the Wings of Sacred Dawn lore tab)
- Nameless Warlocks of the Praxic Order (from The Salt Mines entry of "The Warlock Arnour" book)
- Nameless Warlock of the Praxic Order (from Ghost Fragment: Gunnvor's Ghost)
- Unknown Exo Thanatonaut (from Ghost Fragment: Exo 2)
- Thanatonaut Harper
- Pujari
- Fenchurch Everis
- Albios
- Unknown warlock 1 (from Ghost Fragment: Memento)
- Unknown warlock 2 (from Ghost Fragment: Memento)
- Unknown warlock 3 (from Ghost Fragment: Floating Gardens)
- Unknown warlock 4 (from Ghost Fragment: Drifter)
- Unknown Warlock 5 (from Ghost Fragment: Frontier)
- Unknown Warlock 6 (from Ghost Fragment: The Rusted Lands)
- Unknown Warlock 7 (from Ghost Fragment: The Cauldron)
- Unknown Warlock 8 (from Ghost Fragment: The Anomaly)
- Unknown Warlock 9 (from Ghost Fragment: Widow's Court)
- Unknown Warlock 10 (from Ghost Fragment: Blind Watch)
(all of these warlocks could be the same person, I'm not too sure)
- Unknown Warlock 11 (from Ghost Fragment: Warlock)
- Unknown Warlock (from the Doom Fang Pauldrons lore tab)
- Unknown Warlock mentor (from the Dawnblade lore tab)
- Unknown Warlock student (from the Dawnblade lore tab)
- Unknown Warlock (from the Nightstalker lore tab)
- Unknown Warlock (from the Duty Bound lore tab)
- Nameless Warlock of House Light (The Queenbreaker, Lord of Wolves and Outbreak Perfected lore tabs)
- Asher Mir of the Gensym Scribes
- Gallida (Apex Predator lore tab)
- Nameless Warlock (from the Bluff entry of "The Man they Called Cayde" book)
- Tam (from the book "Eva's Journey)
- Rana Untu (from Ghost Fragment: Vyhar's Ghost)
- Rekkana, of the Kentarch 3
- Unknown warlock of the Cryptochron Order (from Ghost Fragment: Gunnvor's Ghost)
- Lady Skorri
- Lord Felwinter
- Lord Timur
- Lady Ashraven
- Lord Colovance
- Lord Nirwen
Now we need to shortlist it:
- Ikora Rey
- Osiris
- Toland
- Lord Felwinter
- Lord Timur
Now i understand that it's weird to have a list of something close to 50 warlocks to knock it down to only 5; but that's mainly due to how little we know about these characters (which is a shame).
So; Ikora vs Osiris vs Toland vs Lord Felwinter vs Lord Timur; who is the strongest?
Lets look at it from different angles:
wisdom/intelligence: Osiris and Toland posses arguably the most wisdom given their vast knowlegde of the Hive and Vex. Ikora built a vex gate, but she hasn't built the sundial (yes i know Drifter helped but still). Timur managed to locate SIVA but this took him a while and he had help. Felwinter posses another type of wisdom that i'll compare to street-smarts. He knows what he's doing when he acts, as we see in the Lord Felwinter Grimoire Card.
But i will give this one to Osiris and Toland.
Strength: This I will be giving to Ikora and Felwinter. Ikora has shown a prowess and has a huge rep in the crucible, and Felwinter has shown an aptitude for harnessing abilities commonly associated with Titans. Both show physical strength. Timur is an interesting case as he has been able to "trick" enemies into fighting for him using the Light (as shown in the Lord Timur grimoire card as well as from his artefact in D1). Osiris can use multiple subclasses and go toe-to-toe with Saint-14 and has survived in the infinite forest since his exile. Toland I hasn't really shown any physical strength so far so i'll avoid him for now.
This one goes to Ikora and Felwinter.
weaponry: This one goes to Ikora and Toland. Ikora created the Invective whilst Toland the Shattered created the Bad Juju. I will give Osiris a bit of leeway for possibly making the Garden Progeny and Felwinter for his Lie. Timur has no known weapon that he made/owned, so i will not give him anything.
Accomplishments: This is now a long one. All (possibly barring Toland) fought in the battle of Six Fronts and Osiris and Ikora fought in the Twilight Gap. Timur found SIVA. Toland made Bad Juju and has been floating in the Ascendant plain for years. Osiris was Vanguard Commander and Warlock Vanguard, he has a lot of control over the Infinite Forest and has made the Sundial. Ikora is Warlock Vanguard, led the resistance against the red legion, holds control over the hidden and led the assault on the undying mind.
Overall from weakest to strongest warlock of the five:
Timur
Felwinter
Toland
Osiris
Ikora Rey
However, I would also argue to switch Osiris and Ikora around.
But who do you think is the strongest warlock?
-
Feliwinter
-
Don't think Toland that powerful bc he doesn't even have a body. He is like a ghost without a shell and powers. Asser definitely isn't bc he just has one arm. His fake arm looks like it came from a prosthetic second hand store. His only power seems to be having a bad attitude and being annoying. Ikona probably pretty powerful, most bald woman usually are. When Red Legion attacked she went nuts w her Nova bombs. Old Silas probably not bc he is old. Plus, he got lost in Infinite Forrest, so it's likely he is also a bit senile. Doesn't really point to him being powerful. Although, he has managed to keep Bro Vance brainwashed, so who knows. As for the others, if they are dead pretty safe bet they weren't that powerful.

MY WARLOCK WOULD BE THE MOST POWERFUL IF ASCENDENT SHARDS DIDNT COST 300 ENHANCEMENT CORES! ! ! 🥳🥳🥳

All of them, only a warlock can kill an Ahamkara.
and that one hunter that did
-
Our character if they are a Warlock.
-
I feel like if Osiris hadn't started his cult thing, he would no doubt be the most powerful

Tim the Enchanter
Sorry, all out of salt.
Warlock - Felwinter/Osiris Titan - Saint-14 Hunter - Shin Malphur

Edited by Spicy Water: 1/9/2020 7:20:36 AMOsiris is probably the most powerful Warlock, assuming he can use his Reflections outside of the Infinite Forest.
However, I think Ikora is a “better” Warlock -she can lead -has intelligence on more than one enemy race and pays attention to more immediate threats -doesn’t try to selfishly bring back her friends by -blam!-ing with time, something that pretty much everyone can universally agree is a bad idea, by building a device on Mercury to travel within different points of different timelines -Probably wouldn’t leave the device (after failing to save said friend) in a position where the Red Legion could get in, try to find a way to win the Red War, and completely break time on Mercury -usually doesn’t make messes for the main character to clean up for them on a constant basis

Like seriously Osiris what the -blam!- I can see why he was exiled now because holy -blam!-
-
Felwinter is best, if not because of his infamous namesake shotgun, then because Jolder taught him how to Shoulder Charge... What could be scarier than a voidwalker who can use shoulder charge??
-
the player's warlock would be powerful oh wait the clowns at Bungie flat out hate Power
-
-
Osiris ofcourse.. Y’all seem to forget and it is not mentioned in this post either that his echoes where literally EVERYWHERE in the battle of Six fronts.. This dude is a one man army fighting simultaneously on 1000000 different timelines, 1000000 different places with 3 different subclasses while building a freaking time machine.. There’s no debate here

Where is the Saint-14 option?

Must be one of the old dead ones. Like Saint. I'm sure Bungie will resurrect whoever it is someday.

1. How dare you put Timur as the weakest. Man can cast lighting with a wave of his hand 2. Join the discord people, you'll enjoy it

I hope we get more info about Ulan-Tan. It seems like his studies and the Symmetry are playing a recent role in the Destiny franchise.
-
It's us. The hero of the Red War, slayer of gods. No other guardian in lore even gets close to how powerful we are.
-
I’d personally say Felwinter would be one of the most dangerous in a 1v1 fight, where both fighters have the same weapons. Besides that though? Toland. Just his knowledge of the ascendant realm alone could easily turn the tide, as long as it was used correctly.
