[i]As we both stood on stage, I took in the gravity of the situation. I was standing in front of the entire scientific committee. These people were responsible for all the projects happening on base, including V3G1E. I had never felt so honored. Without these people, my purpose is nearly non existent. I tried my best to suppress a smile while remaining professional. As I was thinking about this, Dr. Sophob took a vial if golden liquid from his pocket and held it up to the light. “This my friends, is the revolution of combat. Right here, we have the potential to remove the human cost of war from the equation. This is the future!” They looked confused. I was as well. We were supposed to be creating self regenerating food, not soldiers. One of the woman in the audience rose her hand. “Yes miss?” “Doctor I’m sorry but I’m confused, this is not at all what you were supposed to call us here for. While the idea is brilliant, it must be reserved for a future date. Our supplier is starting to run low, so we must start growing more sustainable food here ourselves.” He merely smiled. “Yes, I understand that. With this, we are knocking out two birds with one stone. All we need is one final ingredient in order to finish the equation.” The room fell dead silent. He discovered it? The last ingredient? “A human life.” Everyone’s faces turned completely pale. After what felt like an eternity, a man in the front spoken up. “Doctor that’s an outrageous claim. What proof do you have for it? If you have any, it better not involve a bloody mess...” Dr. Sophob’s smile quickly faded, and he shook his head. “You know, I was really hoping it wouldn’t turn out this way.” Golden lightning flew from his hands, electrocuting everyone in the audience. They couldn’t move, I don’t know if it was from the shock or the lightning. I ducked behind the curtains and ran backstage, I could still hear his maniacal laughter as he murdered them all.[/i] /////////////////////////////////////////////////// [b]Anna[/b] [i]The alarm went off around five past eight, and everyone went into a complete panic. I began running through the halls, searching for Luther. It didn’t take me long, as I rounded one corner I knocked heads with him. “Ow...Luther...” “Sorry, we need to get out of here. Now!” Behind him I could see Dr. Sophob. He marched down the hallway with purpose, killing anyone who got in his way with...Lightning?! Luther began pulling me away, and I ran with him. “What’s happening?” “He’s crazy, and not human. An evac of the base has been ordered.” “What?! But our research!” “I know, that what we’re going to grab before we get out of here.” [spoiler]I understand this is a bit different from the previous ones, but I wanted to experiment with points of view to see which you guys preferred.
