I'm willing to pay 60$ or even more yearly just to have a better experience.
I love this game so much, but I'm losing my mind.

I hear ya man. I love D2 but when I have some free time I find myself playing Iceborne more than anything. Playing D2 feels like a chore.
-
Its important to take breaks or play a different game for your own mental well being
-
Friend, take a break. There are a lot of good games out there, it's so amazing you wouldn't even believe it. I was thinking about switch to something different/new game for the year 2020 and slowly stepping away from Destiny 2 for a while.

I get tired just logging in and going to the tower.

It's felt like work for a long time ( at least for me ). I was playing last night and it suddenly hit me that all I was doing was completing checklists. Kill 25 of 'x' with 'y', collect 15 of 'z', etc, there's no emotional anchor, or intellectual stimulation to anything to contextualize all these progress bars for these never ending checklists. In it's current state, Destiny 2 is all busy work, but there is no heart and soul.

How can you not love bounty simulator???
-
The way I saw Destiny was that it was a fun co-op experience. If I wanted the game to be competitive I went in PvP. The current bounty set-up in Destiny 2 does not promote cooperative play, it encourages competitive play even in patrol zones as you and others farm kills. It has killed the unique and once lovable aspect of Destiny which was meeting blueberries and just deciding on the fly to work together. That's gone now. Strikes are the same, gambit is the same etc. That's one of the core issues with the loss of identity of Destiny. Any form of potential cooperative play has become competitive because of the tiresome bounty system. One simple solution would be to up the kill bounty totals but all kills from players counts to the bounty especially in strikes, gambit, patrol zones etc.

Edited by Swiftchao: 12/22/2019 11:17:32 AMI loved D1 and always played cause it was fun the entire time I play D2 and it feels like a job and turn off my brain 75% of the time (I even end up doing it in pinnacle end game activities and still end up performing normally) At this point it feels like bungie is just making seasons to keep us busy and not really to entertain us anymore
-
Finally it's nice to see destiny 2 has gone more like destiny 1 where grinding pays off instead of like when it was first released and everything was easy to obtain
-
Game just has way too many bounties in my opinion
-
You people complain about EVERYTHING, first the game was too easy, no end game content, exotics drop like candy. People complained that it wasn't a hobby anymore. Now y'all are complaining that it's a chore? That there isn't enough time in the day, or how bungie doesn't respect your time. My friend has no time to play, you know what he does? He doesn't play! Wow shocker! Fact of the matter is the game is fine how it is, if you don't have enough time , well tough luck, i didn't and i couldn't finish the last season pass. This season i aim to finish that. I never seen such a whiney community before.
inb4 the dumb response of "yOu'Re CoMpLaInInG aBoUt pEoPlE cOmPlaInINg
It is bounty-rama ding ding task maker repeat shopping list choresville head thru wall bangingly boring.. I will be having a very stiff talk to myself about this tonight.
-
Then play something else ffs it sounds like you already lost your mind.

I could not agree more. The games core mechanics (Movement, shooting, abilities) are all super gratifying and fun - but the Bounty system makes most activities anti-fun. as example, the way they are designed (Kill X NPC's with X type of damage / gun type) does not align with group play the game offers. If i go into a strike, i have to race to get to the NPC's first to kill them with X damage / gun type before my fireteam members kill them, as i will not get credit if they get the kill. As they are also trying to complete their own bounties i assume, it becomes a race. This is not fun and turns a fun activity into a stressful one. Sure to avoid this i could load into a nightfall solo, or just not focus on Bounties, but i enjoy playing with others to work together and also want to progress my seasonal bar at a reasonable rate. If i only get a hour or 2 a day to play, sometimes the lack of progress made is frustrating. :(

These bounties (especially the Obelisk ones) essentially turned the game into a solo lost sector farm since your partners and blueberries kill steal and screw with your progress. But we've come full circle. Spent half of year 1 farming lost sectors for faction tokens, now we are doing it again for Obelisks. 👍

It is pure tedium.

so what is a better experience? you lodge a complaint with no resolution or even a solid thing to point to for a complaint. reading through the comments, too many bounties, too repetitive. the bounties can be completed while playing normally. the whole game is repetitive. just what exactly do people expect them to ask you to do? you shoot things, so they tell you to go shoot things, sums it up. there is only so much leeway for a bounty quest step or task can ask of you. it will be repetitive. honestly people need to reevaluate their "love" for Destiny. because the biggest complaints come from people who claim to love the game. the newness of D1 wore off a long time ago and many of you should move on because this game no longer suits your needs.

i played d1 it was the reason i bought a ps4 i thought it was a beutiful looking game and it still is , i can load into an area and just look around at things like the hail on titan the vents going off on io all based on fact albeit loosely but hey its a game not a simulator. but the new seasonal mods and the way the game has gone has put me off it was fun to load up and play now its load up and spend an hour talking with your mates on what your going to do and who has what settings will be best for "a thing" so you can go out and do bounties. i feel that raids etc are what is driving d2 and possibly d3 with worlds first getting views on twitch/youtube and getting top rated on twitter where as the 90% of players that dont do raids get a reskin of forges , oryx court or as a destiny tuber called it "horde mode light" which become boring after the first few times. as for exotics an quests most of them are pointless and get thrown into my vault as there are many purples that are better and if by chance an exotic is good and ppl use it a lot then it gets nerfed into the ground and a lot of tubers say "this weapon is op use this now i promise you its amazing" the huckleberry springs to mind and then you find out that all the popular tubers are on pc where the guns have little or no recoil. atm for me the game feels like the last 6 months of d1 before d2 came out your just going in to grind for the sake of the grind they are padding it out until the next gen systems arrive. pvp hmmmmmmm theres little point in playing this as the every game is just totally random and theres no reward/risk does x amount of kills get you any extra powers ? no. does it level anything up ? , no. is there any point in playing it ? , no. ok ok you might get materials , wow. i believe that theres now a "pinniacle" weapon that needs a load of heavy ammo kills when they nerfed the heavy ammo , good going as everyone knows that ppl will camp ammo crates any ways. right now the game is in flux as it doesnt know what it needs to be or where it is going the time line is totally messed up and all bunlge can do is re-hash old maps/content and force a grind for mostly pointless stuff.
-
Its definitely become way to task oriented. I dont worry though i just play other looters for my endorphin drip. I love just seeing piles of loot and wondering did i get it this time. While sifting through my piles of loot.

Edited by BCNiSS: 12/20/2019 7:43:18 PMIt is a chore now. I play less now then ever. It's just less fun overall to me. For me Destiny 2 has become a grinding mess that is more focused on artificially extending play time than adding more meaningful content to the game. It hasn't helped that Bungie also Quadrupled down on RNG for everything (even a shotgun blast LMAO). And the amount of bugs this season should be downright embarrassing. All hands must be working on D3. I just don't know. Off the top of my head: Seasonal mods are specific to seasonal armor (go grind). Armor stats are low by design and the attributes are antithetical to my character subclass and play style (mobility and strength for my Warlock?-go grind some more RNG). Mods only work on certain energy armor (go grind some more RNG). Masterwork armor cost vs benefit. Lol. In PvP, builds (go grind), OHK abilities and weapons are more important than actual gun play. The connections somehow are worse than ever and that shouldn't be possible. Hit registration continues to be inconsistent from match to match and matchmaking in comp... forget about it. Not to mention every other match is 2 or 1 v 3. Pathetic penalties. Hard to penalize folks with this P2P system though. People asked for more grind/RNG and Bungie obliged in spades. To each their own. Hopefully next season... never mind. Would be nice to have an alternative sci-fi shooter to attach myself to for the long term though. God knows I've been looking. Any suggestions? At this point it doesn't matter what platform.
I'm willing to pay 60$ or even more yearly just to have a better experience. I love this game so much, but I'm losing my mind.
Preach! The more this game feels like a big f'king chore list... the more I lose interest. I'm still playing but a whole lot less about "getting stuff" or "titles" these days. I look at the grind and think "yeah, f'k that shit!"

Edited by Lost Frames: 12/20/2019 5:05:11 PMI thought with us going into Year 3 and a Semi Expansion we would see a basic vendor refresh (Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit), but NO

Play other games. Xbox game pass delivers endless variety.

I think the biggest issue with Destiny is that they created a game where you have to essentially schedule your game play(in order to be efficient), but didn't add anything to the game to facilitate this aspect. If there was synergy in regards to the bounties and the activities themselves, the game would be a lot better overall. The game should encourage me to play one thing, finish up for the week, then move to the other thing as opposed to having quests where you have to spend way too much time doing the same activity over and over again.

Its been like this since the first game cane out day 1 with the loot cave idk why yall are acting like this game had some vast illustrious story its always been go here grind endlessly
