If class abilities next season are linked to the "main" stat of a class, this is a massive, massive buff to hunters.
Running 80 - 100 mobility is commonplace for hunters in pvp, currently, with 5 paragon mods the cool down on the dodge is 10 secs. If we assume 100 of the "main" stat = 5 paragon mods then it means anyone with sense will have a 10 second cool down on the best class ability.
Combining this with void battery for next season (no news of no artifact mods in pvp? Why?) Is going to be a problem. Gravation will give perma invis (9 second invis, 10 sec regen on dodge), jesters means the enemy team will have no radar and wormhusk for any top tier players makes you incredibly difficult to kill barring a OHK (which if they see coming, will be tanked)
Bungie, if you nerf and buff by usage in the population, what was the % of arc battery used on arcstrider this season for people who had it unlocked? What is the population split of hunters in comp?
You're making the best class even stronger because most people play hunter in pvp.
Please do not include artifact mods in pvp (or only active in mayhem) and be very careful with the min. Cooldown of the dodge if linked to mobility.
Edit: oh look, hunters now have a 8 second cool down, 4 seconds with frostees, well done bungie. Pvp Balance

Edited by LordNue: 12/12/2019 11:31:12 AM"stealth" my ass. Hunters have been getting buffs constantly, they routinely get the best exotics and abilities that infringe on the other two classes core concepts and abilities. Meanwhile any time warlocks or titans get thrown a bone, hunters pitch a fit and whine until nerfs get doled out and the other two classes are hammered into uselessness yet again. This cycle has been going on since the first game, it's not new to Destiny 2, and it's not going to stop because the class favoritism has been so entrenched in the game that even with how blatant it is, hunter players are convinced they're not only the weakest and most oppressed class; but that somehow they're the ones being constantly maligned by the rest of the community.
-
They have got rid of paragon mods, it was in the TWAB !! or watch aztecross video!!
-
Its going to be bad. Worm arc battery was already broken as hell and now pvp will be flooded with stacks of invis hunters or dudes trying to meme with throwing knifes. Its already like 80 % hunters in pvp and bungie should really look at why so many are crutching this class. Prepare to get downvoted to hell by all the hunter mains.

Edited by WP ScorpionWind: 12/8/2019 1:39:04 AMI find it funny how people keep talking about the hunter's stealth, IE invis as if it's some OP godly ability. Anyone with half a brain knows that a hunter's invis doesn't make them completely invisible and in fact can easily be seen if you're not blind. It's not OP in the slightest. Mobility is also totally useless as it effects nothing of consequence since it doesn't effect sprinting speed. Plus what's even more obnoxious is the fact that hunters are made out be this super ultra powerful class, yet... - We don't have the ability to one shot melee like a titan, one shot grenade like a warlock, because not one of our grenades or melee abilities can do so (We might finally be able to do so again and like everyone else after the solar subclass buffs). They require either a prolonged exposure to kill at all or just knock bit of health off one or more enemies. - Or dodge abilities don't go very far and we can take damage while doing so unlike a warlocks blink, so we can't just completely jump out of the middle of a fight. - We can't negate damage and/or heal health, unless under specific circumstances, like warlocks can with their healing well, or titans can with their wall or bubble, and can't at best try to avoid it.

Edited by brotherR3mus: 12/9/2019 9:45:14 AMHunters are by far the weakest class, we have no one shot ability like warlocks and titans do, titans have shoulder charge and warlocks have handheld supernova and arcweb which can pretty much wipe the whole team, sure we are getting one shot throwing knives next season but that requires a lot more precision than a knee to the face. Warlocks supers are a lot faster and titan supers are just stronger, hunter supers have been nerfed so much that I as a hunter main do not use my super anymore in PvP. We rarely have a good exotic that doesn't get nerfed after 1 season, OEM has been running rampant for about 14 months while wormhusk got nerfed after 1 season. The only reason hunters are so popular among the higher skill PvP players is because of the mobility, hunters have nothing else going for them other than their improved mobility over the other classes. Hunters are not a superior class, it's the players that use hunter that have superior skill. Edit: I forgot to mention that hunters have tether which you all know can suppress another super, but titans have that in the form of a grenade. We hunters have to use our super to suppress another super, but titans can just chuck a grenade to do it.

Titans and warlocks had their fun for the last year with the busted supers and abilities My only response is : Get destroyed

Edited by OneTrueMandalor: 12/9/2019 8:37:04 PMHere’s the harsh truth that no one wants to admit: Hunters have the highest skill ceiling in the game. A lot of the best pvp players are Hunters, that much is true. But the problem is when you try to take the success of the best pvp players and make a blanket statement that applies to everyone else. “The best pvp players use hunters, therefore hunters are OP” No, that just means those players are good. Look at the rest of the hunters. A good chunk of them are probably of average skill. They can handle themselves in pvp, but they’re not unkillable. And then of course you have hunters who are total bots. Just because you play a hunter doesn’t mean you can press a button and kill someone (cough cough shoulder charge don’t @ me). I know everyone is gonna come flocking to crucify me for saying that hunters require skill. But I won’t deny it. I myself am a hunter main and I hate Crucible. I mean, I wouldn’t say that I’m a bot, but more average. I can handle myself but I also get killed a lot. And I’m not mad about it (not anymore), I just gotta admit that I’m not that good. On the other side of the spectrum, I have a friend, also a hunter main. He’s without a doubt the best pvp player in my entire friend group. He’s got every pinnacle weapon, he’s unbroken, he’s a complete pvp sweat. And I acknowledge that he has way more skill than me in pvp, even though we use the same class. This is honestly how it goes for classes that are more mobility-based: high risk, high reward, lots of room for error if your skills aren’t on point, but if you know what you’re doing, you can use the class to its max potential and yield massive rewards. Thanks for coming to my ted talk. I await my execution. (Edit: I knew I was gonna be hated by everyone for saying this, much like all Hunters are hated and persecuted from every corner of the community)

Crying already while you are either walking around with handhelds thinking its skillful or shoulderchage and one shot arc melees with a one eyed mask on and you're complaining about hunters. That's cute
-
As a Titan Main, about time Hunters get a buff
-
If i was Willy Mays I would sell each Class as follow Hunters. Do you find yourself being killed by something and you don't know what? Do you often wonder "where the hell did that come from" or "where the hell" did that "what the hell" go and often ask yourself "WHAT THE F*CK WAS THAT?" - Well I have a GREAT Offer for you! You too can have a Hunter of your own! Comes in 3 Subclasses, and has that extra tight fast and light, swordflight spandex to get you moving so fast, that you will kill your next opponent faster than Jimmy Carr has a comeback. Titans. Do you like Tupperware? Do you like being the topic of many discussions yet you don't have a clue why? DO you run into things for no reason but manage to kill everything around you at the same time? then Boy OH Boy do I have something specia.... sorry give me a second - "what do you mean they are nerfing their exotic? the eye thing? aaa shit...." Willy Mays here... DO you like floating? check out what is coming up next! Warlocks Do you like Soloing shit? - we... excuse me a moment - "are you sure the mask thing is nerfed?" ok well, do like Soloing shit, like dungeons - use this guy.
-
Eh, I said after I obtained the Pinnacles, I'd stop worrying about PvP. It killed my love for the game mode. Haven't earned a single Glory poing for Throwing Knife this entire Undying Season. At this point, I'd love to see Crucible die and PvE reign supreme. Judging from their choices, it seems Bungie is well on their way to delivering 😂
-
Bungie are predominantly hunter mains, so it makes complete sense. Many are also titans. Very few who use walocks use for pve only, and thats projected in game.
-
About damn time, hunters have been getting the shaft for long enough
-
Since when is Hunter the most powerful PvP class?
-
It applies to everyone hit with the smoke affect not just the hunter.
-
These hunters turned me into a NEWT!!!
-
Perma invis hunters with enhanced smoke bombs thanks to the artifact is not going to be fun. Also I think it’s pretty ironic that they make the artifact “to try broken things that they can remove in a season” then add mods with the same abilities to different subclasses. Then the cherry on top is the new seasonal armor will have mods that may also prove to be very powerful in pvp that they won’t be able to remove since they are not artifact mods.
-
Gonna be real rn man. In high level comp you know what I've died most to this season? Warlock handheld supernovas. Arc web is cheesy too. Second most? Titans shoulder charges and normal melees from being able to one shot me. Oh, and magnetic grenades with the void class mod. I've fought more hunters, and more hunters have survived our encounters with arc battery. But I haven't died to as many hunters as I have the other two classes. Hunter invis isn't even hard to counter. You can slap em away with anything. Oh I forgot to mention that one super, you know, the dawnblade? It's the fastest super in the game, lasts forever, and is super difficult to kill because of it's 65MPH speeds?
-
New season not even out and people already crying about hunters. Man I’ll trade my dodging for a rift or barricade any day. One can heal you and give you a little buddy to shoot with you The other can protect you from being shot But yeah cry about a dodge because it can shut down a radar or proc a nerfed invis 😂. Hunter abilities are so weak outside of our dodge chemistry with an exotic (jesters). Dodging on its own? Such a laughable ability because it doesn’t dodge anything at all 😂. Now we finally get a OHK melee too on a specific subclass. The main complaints on hunters is we can jump and dodge..let that sink in. Not that we have such a killer nade or super, not that we have insane deadly melees...it’s we can jump and dodge. Y’all crack me up
-
So, play as a Hunter then... it's just a dodge ability. Who cares if they can dodge and jump around more... it's just that. I main a 'lock and hate when Hunters just jump and run away but you'll never hear me complaining about them. The season hasn't even started and you're already yelling that it's OP.
-
Hunter is easy to pick up, but has the highest skill ceiling of all classes. The hunter class is not OP, however, a majority of very skilled players main hunter. Therefore, when they outplay lower skill players using Titan or Warlock, its easy to say they’re just OP. The truth, however, is that many “hunter mains” could probably swap to warlock or titan and still win all the same fights.
-
Edited by Dredgen Araphel: 12/8/2019 11:10:08 PMTypical whiny warlock, nothing of merit but regurgitated bs. If I'm being truly honest its always trashbox players that are complaining the most regardless of class. Go back to 2k shooters aren't your expertise anymore.
-
Play on a hunter then
-
Am I the only one who wishes they just had shade step on void hunters like in D1? I don't even care if the dodge doesn't reload my weapon or charge my melee, I just want to not be sniped in the head while in the middle of a damn dodge.
-
Can't wait for this season. 😂😂
-
I guarantee I'm not going to be playing any PVP during season of The Hunter. Not even gonna do it. I'll just wait until it runs rampant for two or three months and then they Nerf Hunters into Oblivion finally. It'll happen this is kind of a setup
