Cayde and ghosts
I've been thinking about the lore books and the implications of what is in them, and the lore book "Ghost Stories" caught my eye on this. And it got me thinking, can a ghost rez someone who has already been a guardian? Because that would bring the possibility of a lot of weird stuff to happen, specifically concerning Cayde. People seem to have been wanting him back for a while now, and he specifically said in "The Man They Called Cayde" that he wouldn't go past 6, warning his possible future self that if he's a 7, or has one in tow, someones not playing nice, as he said it. I feel that another ghost rezzing him would make some odd implications, an that if Bungie were to do this right, it would be a great story. Though there is also the problems with the tab "Ghost Hunter." Are there any ghosts left to rez anyone? Are we all the guardians left? Or did the "Ghost Hunter" kill all the free ghosts?

20 Replies[a few things. First, we don’t know what happened to the ghost hunter, hopefully someone put him six feet under with a weapon of sorrow. Second, there is only one time that some theorize what you are suggesting is possible, but it happened with a human and is highly debated. Third, when an exo is rezzed as a guardian they do not reset and no longer need resets. That’s all I can really say.]

But no, the Light can only be sparked in a Guardian once, just like how each Ghost can only revive one Guardian and no Guardian can go through more than one Ghost. And there are still more Ghosts and new Guardians being revived. Heck, we got a grimoire card last Dawning with newly-revived Guardians. Spartan was talking about Guardian Exos not needing to get mind wipes, but that isn’t confirmed. Mind wipes are used to prevent DER (Dissociative Exomind Rejection, where the human mind rejects its artificial body, causing fatal psychological problems), and it is very very very unlikely that being a Guardian can prevent it. There’s plenty of lore about Guardians suffering from psychological issues, so we can safely assume DER is still a problem for Guardian Exos. Some Exos (like Ada-1 and Lakshmi-2) are lucky enough to not suffer from DER, but others like Banshee-44 are threatened by DER much more often.
