How exactly does everyone feel about fusions in both PvE and PvP?
In PvE I find them quite enjoyable from time to time. In PvP I always wondered why regular ones have such insane range and linear fusions are almost nonexistent in PvP at least from my experience.
If Linear fusions used special ammo we'd probably see them more in PvP and if regular fusions had more damage falloff it would make you choose between precision/range and an energy pocket shotty so to speak. What's everyone's take on their current state and what would you change about them if anything at all?

They're long range charge up shotguns,. With a weakness of charging. The problem is the backup plan perk. Cutting the charge time in half completely vaporizes their weakness.

Edited by TANGY VIVID: 12/3/2019 2:39:27 AMI'm fine with a nerf to range of fusion rifles in PVP. But lets see some primary/kinetic fusion rifles. Every other architype of gun has a primary/kinetic option. Arbalyst is a linear fusion rifle and is exotic so that doesn't count. Balance this needs to happen something Bungie struggles with since D1 launch.

Loaded Question is literally an orgasm in fusion rifle form, and most other FRs in PvE are pretty good. In PvP, high impacts (especially Erentil) are VERY strong and probably shouldn't have access to Backup Plan. The faster charge time FRs could use a bit shorter of a charge time and access to some more unique perks
-
Anyone who thinks fusions are ok in PvP are just terrified of losing their crutch erentil. They definitely need some damage falloff after 10 meters or so, this would still put them above shotguns. Bungie should've never introduced back up plan, an exotic perk from D1, onto legendary fusions in D2.
-
Nerf any other fusion rifle but please don't touch my Loaded Question for it is my best friend!!!

I think linear fusion rifles in the secondary slot will get outmatched by snipers no matter what, unless they are a OHK anywhere on the body. That being said, a OHK linear fusion rifle in the secondary slot will be a bit too powerful.
-
the issue isnt the weapons its the ammo economy too easy to crutch on them all game
-
They've come a long way from being known as inFusion Rifles
-
They are a viable weapon now. When I run into rushing shotgunners I switch my sniper out for a fusion and it works well. It’s really the only defense against apes which is why there is so much whining lately. Leave them be. That no backup plan perk might be a tad ridiculous though.

Edited by SluGGo: 12/1/2019 4:48:04 PMBungie should change them back to projectile weapons. And remove back up plan from high impacts. Other than that they’re fine. Oh and yes linears should be moved to the special slot. Along with QBB.
-
For PVP high impacts need a range drop off of about 10-15 meters. No damage or half after that. The problem is that it effects primary weapons when you one shot past that range. I main a fusion primarily for shotgun rushers but notice that I can and get outgunned by fusions during primary gun fights. Because of range. For PVE I think they are in the best spot in Destiny's history. Great for ad clear and majors.
-
Only change I'd say is move all linears to special slot.
-
Sigh.

Fusions in PvP need some work. They shouldn’t be able to snipe. They need a massive range nerf and it damage falloff and some perks should not work in PvP. Keep linear fusions where they are but they do need a buff in PvE.
-
Edited by Swiftlock: 11/30/2019 11:18:14 AMThey're all over the place. Linears need a buff in general. Rapid fusions make for fantastic DPS in PvE, but require finesse to string kills together in PvP. High-impact fusions are obnoxious in PvP with Backup Plan + range perks, but not good for raw DPS in PvE. All the other archetypes in between are whatever. They're useable, but not the best at what you'd need a fusion for in the first place.

They are balanced for the sand box and there isn’t any data to support a need for changes. Just players “feelings”. We need changes to the systems not weapon types to improve the game.

"I'm a shotgun ape and a fusion rifle killed my no failure possible shotgun aping. NERF IT BUNGIE ! I DEMAND AND CRY FOR IT !"~ Shotgun apes Fusions are fine in pvp. Point blank period. Oh wow you got killed at 10 meters whoopee doda the game still keeps on going. Also apes do not even bring in that stupid video of some PC players killing his friend at 40 meters while they were standing still cause stuff like that will never happen in a actual game. More often than not you will get kills around10 to 15 meters.

Linear fusions(all 4 of them) are heavy weapons for some reason No one wants that
-
Voop Nation are the answer to shotgun mains. We are the answer. And for the record I refuse to use fusions with Back-up Plan and I don't even know if I have an erentil. I exclusively use Proelium or my Timelines Vertex from FWC.
-
I use crooked fang quite a bit in pvp, got sick of my Erentil a while ago. Both are in a good spot and don’t really need a buff/nerf imo.
-
Id rather bungie not touch anything. Its usually for the worse.
-
No more tweaks or nerfs, my god
-
Really good state play cod stop crying

One guy was moaning at me during the raid for using the zealot with shield disorient instead of the recluse. Scrubs and their needed “loadouts” make me laugh. Pvp the high impacts are insane. Everyone has been melted to the erentil.

They finally got them right after years they should not be touched because they'll be broken again forever
