Thinking back to all the games I've ever played I can't remember a good minigame. They've either been mediocre like fishing minigames or absolutely terrible (Mass Effect 2 mining/scanning minigame). Do any good minigames exist?

Card game in Xenosaga 1 was a fun one to play.

Strangely I always enjoy lockpicking in Fallout and Skyrim. Gwent from The Witcher was so popular that they made it into its own game. I personally never liked it though.

Doom3: SUPER TURBO TURKEY PUNCHER

I think kingdoms hearts has had a good one... forgot what it was. I think it had something to do with whinnie the pooh in KH2...

Generally, GTA games usually had great minigames. Also, I'm not sure if that counts, but Project Gotham Racing 3 had Geometry Wars as a minigame (which was later made into a full arcade game I enjoy to this day).

Mario Party comes to mind. Does Rapunzel in Catherine count? I spent way too much time on G-Bike and snowboarding back in FFVII. I also found Triple Triad (VIII and XIV) strangely addicting. FFXIV even has mahjong (Japanese style anyway).

I enjoyed using the Electrolyzer in Ratchet and Clank Going Commando

In games that revolve around minigames (like Mario Party etc.), yes. But in regular games, I can't really think of any either, unless collectables/secret items count.
