The ability is basically useless outside of your super. It's only benefit is a somewhat cool animation and you fall slightly faster (it can also be used to negate fall damage. Probably it's most useful feature.)
The height you have to gain to get any meaningful amount of health and the long activation and recovery animation makes it hyper situational in PvE and basically useless in PvP. Not to mention most PvP maps don't have locations that allow you to easily gain height with the Warlock's slow-ass jump.
You need to get more health for less height for this ability to see any real use. Speed up the animations for it too while you're at it.
Hell, there should be an exotic that lets you cause AoE damage when you land depending on how high you were. Think Terminal Velocity on top tree striker. Maybe something like 5m = 50 DMG, 10m = 100 DMG, 15m = 150 DMG, 20m = 200 DMG. (Yes, this would allow it to OHK, but 20m in the air is pretty high. I feel like you deserve the kill at that point.)
Kind of sad to see top tree getting all these buffs but no buffs to one of the worst abilities in the game.
I'm talking from a console perspective. I know the amount of health you get is tied to framerate, so it's probably better on PC. Even then I don't see it get any real use.
Sure why not. Only as long as it also uses super energy to achieve this.

Bungie isn’t just changing those three, and they said there would be other changes to other abilities. Please actually read the TWAB before making a post about it.
