We've been waiting to go up against Undying Mind since we first heard about it. Now, when it's done, it seems to be very disappointing. The only thing we get is the "final assault" triumph which enables the "Undying" title.
Couldn't we get anything more since it's a very nostalgic D1 strike boss, like the Imago Loop that dropped in D1?

Thank you to the OP and everyone commenting on this thread. Aside from Imago Loop, do you have any other points of feedback? Thanks!
-
Maybe, possibly, who knows, there will be an end result/reward after we kill a bunch of different minds at the end of the season, since there is supposed to be a bunch of Undying minds out there that are being pulled in from different time lines. Ahh, who am I kidding...
-
Just abandon this trash and go back to d1...
-
You got exactly what was hyped and nothing more. Imago Loop wasn't hyped. It's funny how high the expectations can get.
-
Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 11/19/2019 9:22:21 PMI think people need to temper their expectations on $10 seasons.
-
I thought I missed something. Glad I'm not the only one who thought it was underwhelming. Still love this game and grind.😁
-
This whole thing reminds me of how Black Armory's launch went down. Player expectations weren't kept in check because Bungie didn't talk about it enough. Seriously, did Bungie tell us ANYTHING about the Final Offensive, besides the release date? No. Now, here's the thing. Yes, it's Bungie's fault for not telling us anything about the Final Offensive. On the other hand, you say you wanted the Imago Loop to drop, that puts up false expectations. People see stuff like that and blindly follow it and expect it to happen.
-
See this is good feedback, the "FINAL" should have like double drops or something. Imago loop would kinda suck because it's such an awesome gun but will be gone at the end of the season so people won't have much time to grind it.
-
I've said it in other thread but I'll spread it around for those with a short attention span and/or poor situational awareness. We were all warned in the Directors Cut blog post as to less content or features due to team burn out and making content is hard. I'm sure those are true and they're real people, but it's a hard excuse to hear. I'm not trying to make one of the edgy bash posts. Just pointing out the writing has been on the wall for those that don't pay attention. Which is most.
-
what hype? what expectations did you have? it's not as if they were going to drop a new raid for it.
-
HALO MCC is coming soon on steam.
-
The D1 encounter was a fight that made you work for your loot. The mind opened time portals that would unleash vex from alternate timelines into the fight. The literal ONLY difference between the Undying Mind and whoever the hell we killed previously, cosmetics aside, is a rotating shield during damage phases. Same attacks, adds, mechanics and movement.
-
I say it was more the youtubers and streamers that overhyped it. But these past 5 weeks seeing to "portal" being built for just a boss swap didn't help.
-
Edited by Urazz: 11/21/2019 2:44:31 AMThis is all Bungie's fault, not the playerbase. We got Ikora building a portal and hyping it up for us and the season calender had it noted in that which gets us thinking it was important. Needless to say, I think the Undying Mind should've been harder than it is and given a lot better loot, i.e. give a high chance for an exotic, a pinnacle drop, etc.
-
I agree, an imago loop drop would be great. The problem is if Bungie did that there would be a lot of people on these forums complaining about "recycled weapons and content". I think the big issue here is the activity. Maybe they should have made a few more changes to it than they did.
-
Overhype, underdeliver as usual.
-
What were you specting?? Mythoclast? Imago loop? They dont care.
-
Edited by TJ_Dot: 11/19/2019 6:16:40 PMGo figure, it's disposable, it's not meant to be good. This is the problem with their plans to ditch content you're BUYING. They have no reason to make it good, only to sell and advance the plot. This will get worse as time goes on and Shadowkeep gets stale.
-
At the end of the offensive, we should have gone through the portal into the boss room from the D1 undying mind strike and fought it there.
-
Edited by Shirtless_Captain_Kirk: 11/20/2019 7:42:55 PMWe have two problems the vex offensive itself, and in the fact that people think the fix is to add an ALREADY recycled hand cannon from Destiny 1 that was originally a recycled version of Fatebringer. If y'all remember they took away elemental primaries in y2 D1 and that was the closest thing you could get to the fatebringer roll in y2 and it was the EXACT same model and a reskin with a white texture. THAT ORIGINAL RESKIN TOOK ABOUT 5 MINS IN PHOTOSHOP TO CHANGE THE COLOR AND MAX AN HOUR TO PULL INTO DESTINY AND MADE FUNCTIONAL. Fast forward to now and we have people wondering why the main focus is Cosmetics that take them very short amounts of time to make and generate a lot of Revenue. Bungie is definitely a problem here but so is the community This very issue that I just pointed out is the essence of the problem with Destiny. If Bungie can manage not to listen and not engage in the recycle Doctrine.
-
I thought I steam-rolled the Undying Mind into a flat, silver pancake with my Dark Drinker and Black Spindle back in Destiny 1. Guess not. Huh.
-
This is a dev that puts a subclass balance update with a reused exotic quest and some paid for themed emotes as a content update on their roadmap.

This is what we wanted https://youtu.be/2rq1YQ7MbBg

Maybe if we kill the thing a few thousand more times something more will happen. I can’t imagine what, but at least it’ll be something. It doesn’t help that DMG is asking for feedback like the event is already over. If it’s NOT over, this is a weird way to trigger the forums.
-
Its not overhyped its just extremely lackluster content. And frankly can’t hide behind Activision anymore...
-
I just got an email from Bungie talking about the Undying Mind and it says we found a new secret location on the moon....... No, we didn't. We are going to the exact same place doing the exact same activity. The only differences are that the gate looks the same as the one Ikora built behind her station (except bigger) and that we fight the big Hydra instead of the big Minotaur. Snore!
