Training Pt1

“Again!” Zimraphel hurled her javelin, striking the target dead in the center. “Again!” Her arms aching, she grabbed another and landed another bullseye. “Again!” Zim had been hurling the javelin for hours. Her mouth parched, head swimming and arms failing. “This is not something for leisure, Zim. It is a necessity. You need to become more refined, a sharper blade.” (Zim’s voice is like Evelyn’s if it was human, and has a tint of Az’s sweetness in it) “I AM sharp!” Infuriated, she twirls the javelin, imbuing it with arc as fire sprouts from her hair. “No, you are not. The weapon is. You are simply a powerhouse. Some can get away with that, but you will not have that luxury. Your power must be focused, or risk harming yourself and others. For that, we’ll need to dampen your power.” Cass unveils his hands from the long, purple robes, and extends them. Uttering an ancient chant, runes across the training room light up with void energy. Zim’s lightning slowly fades, and her eyes return to normal. “And the Jewel? Your mother is here for it.” Cass draws a gauntlet of Nithril, and Zim reluctantly places it in his hand. “You are more than able to wear this, but I shall make you deserving. I cannot change that you were made for it, and have incredible arc power from some unknown parent. But if we take that out, we can train the real you.” Cass exits the room, his gauntlet steaming. Zim is left with her two friends, Eridani the ghost and Umbra the [REDACTED]. “Umbra, what are you doing?” Umbra is a mute, and communicates with a screen on his visor. He has cast aside the standard purple and yellow robes of the Guards, instead taking a thin, metallic suit not designed for humans. His visor gives witness to the atrocities Evelyn committed against him and his people. His anger is very clear despite his lack of communication. “Umbra, please don’t. You know you can’t do anything to her.” “She’s right, you know? Evelyn did us all wrong, but she’s making up for it.” “...” “Can we even stop him, Zim?” “No, we can’t.” Umbra exits the chamber, and looks back at his friends for a moment. Zim, the only person to find a heart in him. Eridani, relatable and friendly. If he could shed a tear, he would. Stepping through, he never returned.
