So unbeknownst to a lot of people there's a huge variety of board games these days. I don't mean the newest edition of risk or monopoly, I mean games like catan, cosmic encounter and 7 wonders. These are all really good games and I highly recommend them. They all have a similar feel to playing video games in person with someone. If you haven't heard of these games before its because these are smaller companies.
If your interested I'd recommend checking out the websites boardgamegeek.com and miniaturemarket.com
Tldr; board games are really good.

The most cursed game my family has ever played, one that has had us come to blows MANY times...
Monopoly
It's worse than a Ouija board

Edited by BusyBadger: 11/7/2019 10:52:09 PM"The not as plain ones" includes Sorry! ? Are you kidding? That's generic enough that it outght to come in a white box with a bar code for a logo. Anyway... I've got multiple chess sets, Monopoly, Risk, Sorry!, (among other "Ameritrash") stored away along with a few gems from childhood like Fortress America, Axis & Allies, Shadowlord. There's a Simon in there (not a true board game, but closer to boardgame than videogame) and Simon's more fun sibling, Maniac. I had a Stop, Thief! but the scanner died. Two copies of Games Workshop's most recent version of Soace Hulk (one still in shrink-wrap), the new "Warhammer Quest" (not nrarky as good as the original from the 90s- which I've got everything for). Got newer stuff too like Catan, Descent, Fury of Dracula (an old GW title), Elder Sign, Forbidden Island, Pandemic plenty of others. It's an addiction. 😔 I'm trying to stop, only bought one game in the last couple of years (not counting RPG stuff), but... It was Gloomhaven 2nd Edition on Kickstarter (with a bundle of extra stuff) but haven't played it yet. So much stuff! And I just laid the funds down for the Collector's All-Un Pledge on Kickstarter for Oathsworn: Into The Deepwood. I super-excited about this one! It might be time for someone to stage sn intervention! 🤣 FWIW, your poll should have had an "All" option, I'd have certainly selected it. As it stands, I'm abstaining as all three descriptions apply to me. EDIT: I'm BusyBadger over on BGG too. 😉

Cosmic Encounter new? Er... Anyways, I'm a big board gamer. My board game collection is on par with my video games collection. Nemesis. Zombicide. Too Many Bones. Kingdom Death: Monster. Champions of Hara. Dice Throne. Aventuria. Man, I could just go on forever. And I have about 6 Kickstarter projects on the go.
