I'm sure other players will have good ideas to improve on this but here it is.
So, we have Mayhem: abilities, supers and heavy are ramped way up, it's fun enough but more of a carnival show.
We have Momentum Control: weapon damage dialed way up, more heavy, supers only generate on kills. Also fun but still kind of a gimicky sideshow.
Not quite what many seem to be looking for though.
These do however prove that you can tweak individual game modes in a few different ways.
How about a rotator or maybe permanent mode that just has standard crucible damage but the super, grenade and melee generation is dialed way back (maybe no supers at all, but that might be excessive though).
No heavy AT ALL and Special ammo is treated like heavy ammo. Either it only spawns from nodes on the map after a set time or maybe you start a match/round with a couple shots but thats it for the match/round, you don't get more every time you spawn and it's not everywhere all the time.
Jotunn's are disabled LOL (they're basically heavy).
This would force reliance on primary gun skill. Players would focus on neutral game more. Your melee and ability usage as well as when and how to use sniper, shotgun and fusion rifles would be much more strategic. It would be a great place to practice.
