So I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, so I thought I’d bring it to everyone’s attention. I just booted up destiny for the day, and at the character select screen there was a strange symbol next to my hunter. He is still around the 750 mark because I haven’t had time to Lv him up yet. So I go to hover over the symbol and to my surprise it’s a power booster, to permanently boost your power to 900. I decided to continue down the rabbit hole to see how much it cost, and my god 2000 silver 😂 I thought we weren’t going to cross this line huh Bungie, scratching the line of pay to win. Now before someone comments it’s more like pay to progress, yes you would be correct as well. But how convenient that this pops up the very day IB returns, a game mode where power matters. Can’t say I’m surprised Bungie has been creeping towards milking the players more and more. You give this company an inch and they take a mile. How Dare You!

So here's what a lot of people don't get. The game is now FREE to play. So people who used to complain about eververse are now being made irrelevant. How you gonna complain about micro transactions in a free game? You really can't anymore. So now people who liked eververse or were impartial are more likely to buy and people who are against it can either play for free or leave. You're not giving Bungie $$$ so you're not a customer their going to cater for. Simple capitalism at work.
I don't personally agree but this is the new model.
• Shadowkeep isn't free. The new season isn't free, and the game was not free to the vast majority of the player base. So pretending that the game is now magically free to play so they can go crazy with eververse is BS.

Yet that is what they are doing. They now don't have to care about people who don't "support" Bungie anymore. I really don't like the direction but I'm afraid that's what it looks like. As with a lot of other games they make more from micro transactions than base game sales as a studio, plus it costs less than nothing to resell over and over and over. 80/20 principle.

  • Someone shouldn’t have to explain this to you. With all the changes plus the timing of it coming back, it’s quite clear why people would have a problem with it
