All items with their differing rolls can be given unique item IDs if that's not the case already, so it shouldn't be that difficult to allow reacquiring everything, including the exact roll we want as long as we've already earned it.

What happens if you acquire a lesser duplicate sometime after your desired roll? You'd then only be able to pull that version from Collections?
