The story is gonna go in circles or sidequests like it always has, because it has to. If we fight the darkness and win, the story's over. If we fight the darkness and loose it's just D2 vanilla all over again. If bungie had set things up right they could have a jedi / sith style conflict they could extend for years, but I don't trust bungie's writers to be able to deliver on that.

As a Titan main I want to see the lore of Saint-14's Perfect Paradox shotgun come to life and see how our Guardians gave him the shotgun, also using Vex tech to maybe travel time and change things .. "I never found Osiris, but I've killed enough Vex to end a war. And they, in turn, struck a fatal blow .. they completed a Mind with the sole function to drain the Light from me. It worked very well. Don't worry (not that you worry much). It took them centuries to build, keyed to the unique frequency of my Light. And I sit atop its shattered husk. I mourn that I will never reach the heights you have. To me, you represent everything a Guardian can become. Yours is a thriving City. So different from mine. My whole fourteenth life I fought to make my City yours. I never finished. All I have left is this weapon. The Cryptarchs say you crafted it yourself, built it out of scraps and Light and sheer will, inside the Infinite Forge. I'll make sure it finds its way back to you. When you gave it to me, I swore I would make it my duty to follow your example. I'm still trying. ---Saint-14

  • All of the best stories are in the lore. I love saint 14 and would love to see his story done right. I would still love to see Osiris or Rasputin really have a good story centered around them. A super powerful AI that controls defense networks around multiple planets at the same time? An AI with access to tech so advanced that 100 iron lords couldn't even survive against him? That would be amazing. Or Osiris, a warlock so controversial that he inspired a cult so devoted to him it almost drove the city to civil war? A warlock who can travel through time, create multiple copies of himself, and take control of our enemies technology better than they can use it?
