what kind of question is that.. that's like asking why was season of opulence "locked" behind forsaken.. that's kinda how DLC and seasons work

Except the OP DID buy the season...so why can't they get the season title. THATS their point...and noone has answered it...because the answer is "to get ppl to buy the dlc".

Except now with the A New Light system, seasons don't require you to have the latest dlc, just as long as you have the season pass as it has nothing to do with the current dlc. Unlike in the past, all seasons were under the annual pass system which was primarily the DLC with additional season content included. If the triumph is bugged by currently requiring Dreambane armour to complete the patrols, then Bungie have a duty to rectify this ASAP.

Because Shadowkeep has been handled differently now because of newlight and how the dlc is a separate entity to the pass. DLC / Shadowkeep owners get access to everything with new missions a new set of gear and weapons the raid and some exclusive content / nightmare hunts. Pass owners get access to the rewards from the pass, the seasonal activity, seasonal triumphs the seasonal gear set from the activity and the exotic quests Newlight owners are able to get the free pass rewards and most of the old content. Each level of "Ownership" gets you access to more activities the pass gives you access to the season of the undying activities you should also have access to get the seasonal triumph because you own access to the seasonal content.

Correction...pass owners do NOT get access to seasonal triumphs. As OP has pointed out, there is ONE seasonal triumph that season pass owners are unable to complete. It is locked behind an Expansion, and the expansion is not Seasonal but an annual storyline for which four seasons shall occur over its lifetime. I think that is what the OP is trying to understand. Why, after purchasing the seasonal pass, are they unable to work their butt off and achieve the seasonal title.
