They made the game and first 3 dlc free, you can buy a dlc separate from everything. So no more making money off an entire season pass, so they went the mmorpg route and making money off the cash shop. Instead of complaining just realize they’re helping the game. A skin doesn’t give you 30 extra damage or make it fire faster.
Either they drop the prices and the game content suffers or you suck it up and just buy it. If you’re enjoying the content then yep support them.

Alternatively, they can go and follow in Warframe's footsteps and make it possible to earn small amounts of silver and get the best of both worlds. You know. Like a worthwhile, trustworthy and likeable company would.

I actually love Warframe. Been playing for 4 1/2 years now. They have the best idea on how to run a cash shop in my honest opinion. A friend of mine is a F2P player in warframe currently sitting on 3k plat. Goes to show the system works perfectly and it’s self sustaining. Bungie could really learn from that. Make weeklies for eververse that award silver.

Last time I checked, I had to buy the base game and the first season pass. So to be quite frank, I don't give a damn about whether its free to play to new players.

As did I. The base game, CoO, Warmind, Forsaken and Shadowkeep just for them to turn and make it free. But who cares, it’s more players coming in. I would rather pay for eververse to help support more content than lower the price and watch content slow down. Many games do this. Guild wars 2 on pc does this, every mmorpg that’s F2P does this. Game is free then you buy expansions, and the cash shop is there to help. No one is forcing you to buy a cosmetic. It doesn’t make you any stronger so why complain about it? If $20 for a skin and weapon skin is too much you might need a better job.

I love it when microtransactions are brought up and the apologists immediately fall back on "yur income bruh". I've pumped hundreds of dollery doos into this franchise, and yet i'm suppose to just bend over and smile at the fact that Bungie's trying to charge me £16 for a set of 2 second animations? I mean, if you can honestly type down "$20 for a weapon skin in a full priced game" and not see the absurdity in that statement, then I genuinely can't help you buddy. I'll put it like this: I would much rather pay extra for the DLC and get [b][i][u]everything[/u][/i][/b] than be nickle and dimed every season. How does that sound? To have everything earnable in game?

I miss the days of when you bought a game you got everything on that game just had to unlock it. We just have to accept that dlc and micro transactions are here to stay for the time. I fully agree and wish we could go back to those days. I love discussions about touchy topics like this, people like you and I who aren’t just full of toxicity and actually have genuine debates and points.

No one is forcing any of the micro transactions on us lmao that’s why all the best looking stuffs in there. People at least most wanna look cool while they blow stuff up and 90% of the good looking stuff is locked behind $$$$. And stop with the it don’t make you stronger or faster argument level in this game hasn’t mattered In years

No argument works in this community. And if you wanna look cool then just buy it. I’m missing the point of people complaining about these prices. They aren’t bad at all. Though I’ll keep all of these complainers in mind as I keep supporting eververse prices. Already $60 deep in eververse since Shadowkeep might as well keep going. Hell I’m over $1000 into a mobile game. Sounds like people either need to learn to money manage or get a better job.

When I can go spend $20 in warframe and literally get 5 times the amount of cosmetics I would in destiny that says to me bungie is greedy as hell.

By no means am I defending Bungie, they are a money hungry company lol. Though I do understand the reason of increasing the price. I’ve played Warframe for 4 1/2 years now and I will say they have the perfect idea on how to run a cash shop. Every developer out right now can learn from them. DE gives you ways to earn plat without ever spending a penny. A friend of mine is rough 3k plat deep and has never bought a single plat.

They was no reason for price increases as the revenue they receive from the people who will start free to play then move on to forsaken $40 and Dattokeep $35 would have more then compensated. It’s pure greed from a lazy company that thinks content is so hard make

They don’t have to buy forsaken or Dattokeep (that was good). They’re able to buy 1 expansion if that’s all they want. Before we had to buy the whole season pass but they are losing money by separating the season pass. This was the reason of the increase. Instead of making a bulk for season pass sales, majority of people will see if it’s anything they wanna do and just skip it. If someone were to ask me I’d say skip everything but Forsaken and Dattokeep. Those 2 are amazing. I don’t think they are The Taken King level but it’s close.

You are correct they don’t have to but as you have been playing destiny for a while can you tell me that someone would really just play the ftp version be real. I love this game and until I woke up to the greed I continued to buy expansion after expansion. They will to it’s destiny lol and bungie knows it

It’s almost like a Fortnite type of deal. I hate the game but I respect the hustle. They know no matter what they release people who like the game will eat it up like it’s a lifestyle. I’m not saying everyone has money to splurge on eververse but I do agree with them making a way to earn silver in game, maybe eververse weekly bounties or some other ways. They need to make it more accessible to the F2P players like DE. Though as it stands we know we won’t see a drop in eververse in a while.
