• In terms of making armor* my apologies. Isn’t the raid armor just a hand me down from eververse? If I’ve heard right then there’s only about two new sets that aren’t eververse so that’s not exactly impressive.

Meanwhile there's only one set thats locked to silver. Going by a ratio, you get more from playing the game vs buying from eververse.

  • If we’re talking about armor, then you get exactly one more set by playing the game than you do through eververse. I wouldn’t exactly call that impressive or even mediocre. Fact of the matter is, bungie spends way too much time making things for eververse, it’s completely stupid to let bungie get away with having the only consistently updated vendor be the microtransactions vendor.

  • Only one? You sure? Dreambane is from the moon Garden of salvation has a set Substituional is from the free pass thus gained from just doing any activity that rewards xp Phenotype Plasticity armor from paid pass grouped with the season you purchased and again earned from any activity that gives xp Iron will from iron banner Empyrean Cartographer is the only one requiring dust or silver meaning you need to go through eververse. By that count its 5 vs 1 eververse set. While it sucks that eververse is the only vendor getting update, eververse isnt the only place that rewards gear, which is the purpose of vendors. Lets not make it sound as if there aren't weapons given from the raid, eris, vex offense, plus the ritual weapons.

  • I like how the first two sets actually have nothing to do with eververse, then you go spouting off for the next two sets about how they’re gained from the season pass, especially when one of those two is from the paid pass (which you buy with silver just like eververse crap, therefore technically an eververse thing). When I made that comment I was unaware of the fact that there was going to be iron banner. So it’s actually three to one, not five to one at least relative to when I made my comment there, that being a time when I didn’t know about iron banner. No matter what way you slice it though, those numbers aren’t impressive. For a game that loooooves to have trailers showcasing the armor and weapons, it’s honestly pretty sad how few choices you have, eververse or not.
you go spouting off for the next two sets about how they’re gained from the season pass especially when one of those two is from the paid pass
Personally I separate those from the set only from eververse for the fact that you don’t need to go through eververse to get them. The free pass is available to everyone in which you gain the sets from just playing the game. While the paid pass is available to those that purchase the season of undying or shadow keep, meaning you don’t need to spend extra money on silver to get the full set. Sure you have to grind to get them, but many ask for armor to be given through grind. So if the set is available to everyone as long as they play and earn xp, is it really the same as the Empyrean set? Imo, no. So still 5 to 1. And yes empyrean can be earned from grinding dust but i really dont see that being possible vs the paid set due to the small amount of dust given, on top of if you're wanting the set for all 3 classes.
it’s honestly pretty sad how few choices you have, eververse or not
if I’m not mistaken, with armor 2.0 almost every set from previous seasons is available for you to use. So you have a ton of choices actually, just have to grind for their 2.0 varients…….

  • 100% agree. Remember these are the same people that use to say you can get everything in Eververse from bright dust that you earn playing the game

Get that out of here. A lot of people, I'd bet at least half, bought this game before it went free. Some of us like myself who or D1 veterans, even bought the limited or collectors edition, between $100+ and $250+, because D1 ended in such an amazing way and we how no idea that D2 was going to be a complete joke at launch and ended up getting screwed. All the digital content we paid the extra money for was made free and we have to then pay additional $75 for the two DLC's seasons of content we don't get.

  • "complete joke at launch" =only ever compares it to the all the dlc plus base game of destiny 1 It had a great launch what ruined it was the rip off lazy as -blam!- content we got from CoO and Warmind Destiny 2 base had endgame activites aside from the raid, base game Destiny 1 only had the vault of glass and a gun quest that being said house of wolves and the dark below are leagues above CoO and Warmind, and my I like The Taken king more than Forsaken because Oryx was showing why he was a threat, Aldren was an edgelord tricked by a taken servitor that was actually just some weird multi eyed lizard with the most bullshit fight sequence that put the world eater to shame. Riven was touted as a great threat but you don't see why until after you kill her, actually she was a non issue until she died. Oryx was a massive threat when he came to our solar system and was still a massive threat after you killed him in the story and killed him again on his home turf.

As someone who also paid for all of that as well, we paid for early access. You, like myself, wanted to have Destiny on release from year 1, along with all of the content as it came out all the way through Shadowkeep. I would agree with and consider your argument if it were a case of Shadowkeep and each Season Pass became free 1 month after release. The person your replying to is an idiot. The game is definitely not free, but complaining about about people getting something "FREE" that we paid for is also childish. We paid to have D2 3 years ago. We paid to have Y2 season pass on release. I will give you that it is stupid that the Forges, Gambit, and Menagerie was made free to all already, but again, we got the content on release. If people would be less concerned with what other people are getting and reflect more on what they got out of what they paid then comments like this wouldn't exist. Regardless of what you spent on "Collectors" editions or whatever that came with extra shit, this is what D2 cost upon launch. Base game - $60 Year 1 pass - $30 (if I remember correctly. correct me if I'm wrong) Forsaken - $60 Year 2 pass - $35 Shadowkeep $35 Year 3 pass - $25 Assuming you bought everything on release, the actual game itself has cost $245. You've spent 324 hours playing the game. Please tell me where else you're going to get entertainment for $0.75 an hour. To sit there and complain that $90ish ($125 if you want to be real picky about the Y2Pass) was made available for free 2 years later (for the first year) is kind of entitled. The fact that new people are getting something for free doesn't take away the fact that you got 300+ hours of entertainment for less than $1 an hour.

  • Yes, we veterans got screwed in the end but new players get base plus the crappy dlcs for free and forsaken (and it's 3 seasonal activities) is included with both the $35 and $60 version of shadow-keep both include the first season but the $60 version includes all seasons for the year and unlike WOW your not charged 30 bucks a month. They probably should have given veterans some freebies like maybe equal or half the cost in silver coins at minimum but my rule on something is $1 an hour: If I can get 60 hours in a $60 game I considered it equally spent unless it's really good and/or one and done like undertale. im 78 hours as of this post and that's for shadowkeep alone. and don't compare job wages to a -blam!-ing game go play EVE if your going to pull that shit because I can guarantee you didn't get those kind of moneys worth from games you liked unless you put well over 2,000 hours into EACH GAME, so unless you don't have a job at all your not seeing those numbers anytime soon.

  • I definitely wasn't comparing job wages to "a -blam!-ing game". I was comparing the value you have gotten (at least in time spent) for the amount that it cost, and comparing it to other forms of entertainment. I'm in the same boat as you with the $1 an hour rule. I just didn't specify it in my original post because a lot of my friends say that I am way to lenient on the $1 an hour rule since you pay $5 to $7 per hour to go see a movie, but I digress. I'm not entirely sure if your last paragraph was actually in response to me or just an in general statement, but if it was, I'm not entirely sure which part of my response provoked it. Nonetheless, I do agree that a nice compromise would have been to give veteran players 3000 silver or whatever the equivalent would have been in Bright Dust. Unfortunately, that's where we turn our attention to Bungie, who is never going to do that.

  • Well depending on where you look depends on my time. According to Xbox it's 471 hours. But regardless I hear what you're saying. I wasn't saying what I did to suggest that those who bought it deserve something more or deserve better. As you put it, it was in the past and the past is the past. I simply meant it as to invalidate the Art3mis' comment (although admittedly I did come off a bit strong.😅).

He invalidated his own comment from his own stupidity. Literally just copying what, for whatever reason, a lot of people are repeating. "Destiny 2 is free." They seem to be leaving out a part. "Destiny 2 [Year 1] is free", and as either you or someone else I saw said, 99% of the Year 1 stuff is dead. I honestly can't think of anything from Year 1 other than the raids (which I know most people have moved on from) and Escalation Protocol (which again, once you have the weapons, you've moved on from) that are even worth doing. I mean, I personally like that the Infinite Forest keeps coming back in holiday events, but other than that... there isn't much to do from year 1. So the fact that it alone is free isn't really that much of a 'gift'.

But... but... it's true, that's what intelligent people do every single day. Do you go to any shop manager rant about the prices of their products? Been in this game since 2014 and haven't spent a single coin in Eververse, there's absolutely nothing there that's worth of my real money and will never be.
