Yeah I’ve been a little confused on the prices. I haven’t bought Shadowkeep just yet because I’m waiting to see what happens but here is the way I see it which is what I think is the smartest. Personally I don’t understand why Bungie doesn’t do this..... So we have an emote for 12 dollars. Pretty expensive for someone who doesn’t sleep with a pillow that says I <3 Bungie. So it’s those core buyers that make spend money. But how many core buyers are there? Some $12 emotes I have only seen once in maybe 10 raids. That’s 1 for every 60 people. That’s 1.6% of the D2 population. That’s pretty low. ( I know not everyone raids but it’s the easiest ratio 1/60) However when it comes to micro transactions there is no “supply factor” because it is an infinite digital item. There is only demand. So if demand is so high for an emote, why restrict to big fans with more money. Why not be appealing to the masses? Bungie could reduce the price significantly. Let’s say 200 silver or $2. If this was the case more people would buy them. So let’s do the math.... at $12 with a purchase 1 per 60 players that’s $120 dollars at 600 players (10 purchased).... at $2 which is at reduction of 83%. Meaning to meet the price margin of $120 in 600 people, they would have to sell 60. To me that seems really self explanatory. If a good emote was priced at $2 I see them selling at least 150-200/600 players or 1/6-1/3. Grant it I have no idea how much they actually sell but with infinite supply, why not give to the highest demand? I’d buy an emote for $2 not $12. Dare I say most agree (I think my math was fair but you can check) edit:spelling

So basically what you are saying is you have no way to know how successful or unsuccessful Eververse actually is right now, but you have a way to make it better? Nice.

Considering majority of players are unhappy with it, yes. If you can find any players that would be upset about cheaper ever-verse prices go for it. My ratio is what I’ve seen first hand from other players in raids. If you have sales data from Bungie gimme
Considering majority of players are unhappy with it, yes.
Got any actual data to back that up? A link to it would be nice.
My ratio is what I’ve seen first hand from other players in raids.
In other words your numbers are about as small of a fraction as you can get.
If you have sales data from Bungie gimme
I have not set out to prove anything. You have. I am the one calling bullshit on your ratio and plan to make Eververse more profitable because you have supplied zero evidence to support it other than a handful of interactions you've had with other players and a ratio based solely on that. So, do you have any actual evidence to support that Bungie isn't already making money hand over fist with their current system or not? Because I don't. But I am also not complaining that the current system doesn't work or could be better like you have alluded to.
If you can find any players that would be upset about cheaper ever-verse prices go for it.
You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't want cheaper or free shit. That doesn't mean it's the most effective way to run a business, lol.

  • Ya just can't pull a ratio like that out of your bum, doesn't work.

It’s a ratio I’ve seen first hand from doing raids Edit: if you have more accurate data, I’d like to see it

  • It's a made up ratio from your extremely limited perspective- it means nothing.

  • It’s made up? It’s from what I’ve seen in the raids first hand with emotes. Again if you have a solution since you call “fault” I’d like to hear it. It’s all just an estimation man. You can’t take it so seriously. The point was lower prices means more sales. That’s a given

  • I meant no offense. The solution is obvious - cheaper prices. I'm just saying you can't go around spouting "this is the way it is because I've done 6 raids and this is what I saw." It's not credible.

  • Ah, sorry. Yeah it’s mostly hypothetical.(but sometimes the majority can be represented in the smallest of examples) Guess we will have to wait and see if Bungie publishes sales now that they are on their own. But I got a feeling they might not for a while
