Gaming today has gotten stupid. It uses to be about trying at least to create quality content, now it's about mico and today's generation has set the path for things to get worse with gaming companies. I mean why bother creating a decent game when we can reskin everything and just create new things to sell in our store.
When does this crap stop, when 1 item costs $70 the price of a game? Then just recycle everything to save cost so any company doesn't have to at least try to put that effort they put in their store in the game that use to be a looter shooter?
Edit: Pay no attention to anyone that insults you thinking they are better than. Any company that has respect for their player base would offer better deals and they would also make it so you can acquire all items by simply running activities. They wouldn't shut Eververse down for gamers just playing the game to acquire items so they can cash grab as much cash as they could. This Hogwash "Bungie needs to make money" that people are trying to use as poor Bungie seem to forget all the things they sold between D1 and D2 to make money.

Bungie's story that has been going since D1 that is on backorders

Boost packs
Rock star, etc...
Bundles that were close to $500.00 that sold

The Annual Pass, Battle pass and yet to come
There $100 million contract with that new IP and I know I missed more things they sold to make money
So don't give me this Hogwash Bungie "didn't make any money" and try to act like they were hurting.[/spoiler]
Edit: 1. Just had to add, I can't wait for the fake apology Bungie will give on however that will be and the ones that think Bungie can do no wrong will be like, "see, Bungie is listening" 🤦♂️

See this kind of stuff has me excited for The Outer Worlds next week, it's just "oh you want the game? Here buy it and get the full thing" with no deluxe editions, pre-order bonuses for certain places or any sign of microtransactions of any kind. It's just so rare these days to be able to buy a complete game without them trying to sell you any extras.

It's the lack of everything else that bothers me. As I said to someone already that it's fine that they sell things from the store, but at least update the game in the process. Like bring factions back, etc...

Yeah that's very true as well, like that Hive exotic sparrow absolutely should've been a rare drop from the dungeon (or maybe a possible drop in the Scarlet Keep strike) The lack of updates to other vendors is very clear as well, i'm almost certain we'll get the same old weapons in Iron Banner tonight too

For 2 years now Eververse has been well taken care of. People have the right to be upset about it knowing things like the other vendors not being updated. In D1 they updated a lot of things every DLC.

Yeah i remember, Rise of Iron had far more new gear outside of eververse, to me it just feels so bad that all these planetary vendors haven't had any gear updates at all aside from making their armour 2.0

ROI got the Age of triumph update later on that added more from when it released. The way Bungie is headed I don't think we will see that. The planet vendors have plenty of opinions as well, as everything else though it all depends on how willing Bungie is to update things.

I won't give up gaming, but I will not pay full price for most games out today. The content that is being put out isn't worth it. I mean, everyone that pre-ordered everything could have waited and got everything for $40 at this point 😄

They did not get 100% of the profits off of the sales of everything. They do now and I have no issue tossing money in to buy some cool stuff I like and want. I’m also supporting a studio I have been a big fan of for 18 years. Chill bud

You're right though, they weren't making 100% of the profits, now they are. Activision isnt a charity. They wouldnt of stuck with Bungie if they werent seeing some sort of significant profit. Now that cut goes to Bungie. So they are making more than they were with Activision. But instead of cutting back on micro transactions and monetization they ramped it up more. Instead of more content with better quality, we are getting more microtransactions and less quality. Bungie has changed from the games as a service model to maximum profit model under the excuse that they are an independent studio now. They arent a small studio trying to make a name for themselves. They are well established and trying to milk as much money as they can for the least amount of effort.

What gets me is there are how many new eververse items in total? Bet there isn't even half of that total in the entirety of shadowkeep.

The thing is, AAA game prices haven’t changed at all and have always been ~$60. But as players become more demanding of developers, and bigger projects require bigger teams, developers have to find another way to make money to pay for employees.

Thats total bs, tech advances make games production no harder now than the good ole days. Games development has driven tech advances just like any industry. Games maybe far more advanced but so are the tools/production methods. Look at Hellblade Senua's sacrifice? A game arguably far more advanced than anything Bungie do from a tiny studio Ninja theory, 20 odd people did that? By far the biggest increase in costs is advertising, Producing misleading ads to sell increasingly substandard games.

That's funny cause cyberpunk creators have stated their game will have no microtransactions as did ff7 devs. Spiderman had no micros just dlc and it made a ton as did God of war. I payed more than double that $60 price for d2 not counting forsaken and its annual pass and now shadowkeep and its annual pass.

There is nothing wrong with any gaming company making money off of things like Eververse. What I'm referring to is the lack of effort adding loot in games and using things like Eververse as a filler. Fine, sell their cosmetics but at least update the game in the process.

It doesn't stop with this generation or the next. It's not only gaming. Look at the shit on tv,music or what's trending on YouTube. They don't care about quality, they want fast and easy content. And if it's to difficult to earn, they pay with there or mom's wallets. Can't blame bungie for milking out these little weasels.
