It’s because raids nowadays are hyper mechanic heavy. Yeah VoG has mechanics and so did the other D1 raids, but they didn’t require you to have a masters in physics and engineering just to beat the first encounter. Raids come across now as being for streamers and YouTubers only and not really for the average working man/woman, casual player. Lately it seems as if Bungie has forgotten that Datto and friends are in the minority of their players and they should be catering to you and I so to speak.

  • Well said. I completely agree. I had run hundreds of raids in D1 and we brought along up to 3 newbs to learn the mechanics with us. We could usually compensate for issues we ran into and it was fun. We could have those clutch hero moments where half the team died (for whatever reason) and we completed the encounter. Made lots of friends and wound up getting called in to lend a hand now and then. My Xbox friends list was around 200 Destiny players. In D2, the raids aren't fun and are difficult to teach new people what to do. My Destiny friends list is now at max 3 people.

  • Me and some people I play with, didn’t watch a single video on the garden of salvation (minus the divinity puzzles). We figured out every mechanic relatively quickly. (30-45 mins at most) But I do agree. You could be down a person or two in some previous raids to carry the slack. It has gotten a lot more difficult to do so in more recent raids.

  • Really ? Nothing in destiny 2 is mechanic heavy. Except riven legit maybe. But other raids and encounters are so simple that its borring. Its alo easy to avoid most mechanics just because of how absurd we are powerfull sometimes.

  • Is not that raids are complicated per se, speaking from what ive experienced with the players from my clan, those mechanics just ain't player friendly. My friends struggled at every encounter during calus and while at fighting him it was their most excruciating experience, none of em wanted to go into dimensions, multitasking in an encounter that is set to "normal" difficulty ain't right. This same guardians i brought them to less demanding encounters like Argos or VoG and Crota (wich they never played before cause they started Destiny at Rise of Iron) and they made it right, sure we teach em and make sure they understand what their role was (as we did on Calus) but again, the encounter gives guardians to much to handle for a normal difficulty.

  • Is that why only a small portion is doing them and beating them early on, and usually on PC? Is that why I've had trouble with Gahlran cause a lot of groups have struggled there (I don't, but people I've played with do).

Its not because people are struggling that mechanics are heavy XD. Galhran is basically : -spawnkill adds. -switch your buff before the timer ends. -punch the illusion together and shoot galhran hand. Then dps the boss. Waw so hard, sure it changes from a simple "shoot at crota then a guy smash him with a sword when the 5 other players are drinking cofee lolz" The only way to fail against galhran is when all 6 players are yelling in the chat. Even tough you can do this encounter without communicating if you arent dumb.
