i do remember back in D1, every raid was , you go to the LFG page, pick the first entry and 15 seconds later you were raiding .. easy.. during vault of glass, crotas end prison of elders, and kings fall i encountered not many "KWTD" posts at all. you literally just got on lfg, picked an entry and if you were lucky enough to get the place you found yourself raiding.. and completing.. Now the raids are WAY more mechanic heavy, last wish is a nightmare to teach with the basic principle that one party gets the information the other needs.. like the eyes of riven .. thats maybe content for super high class , fixed 6 man raid teams to give them a challenge. But turns out its not much of a challenge once you learned the ballet. and people speedran the SotP in Strike time we need ot go back to crotas end style where you actually just had to shoot things and maybe had one mechanic at a time and not needed a synchron swimming group performing a ballet. Wrath of the machine was near perfect and Kings fall was great.. Last wish was so complex that apart from some special groups , noone played riven the legit way because the chance of wiping was near 100% this KWTD is the result of a failed raid difficulty design, i wrote an entire article about this a while ago. you need to have at least two difficulties.. one where you dont have the revive tokens and generally more time and venues to solve a puzzle and then the one for te top notch streamers.. its getting more and more silly with those rais requirements.. day 2 of the raid and people were already looking for KWTD teams. and one week later the "must have X clears, must have emblems" are popping up.. one mistake was the display of the number of clears in the emblems.. Being able to beat the raid is not longer the holy grail.. having the raid emblem doesnt mean shlt anymore if you sont have tripe digits displayed in it.. the raid has become the secondary achievement.. now its number of clears and Bungie needs to address this. Post like oh you just have 5 clears you cant talk about XXX is laughable.. the raids are not that complex that you cant have an opinion with 1 or two clears.. and it seems that the clear of a raid is not considered fun anymore but a chore that needs to be done super fast one phase all bosses, shortcuts, maximum dps strategy , max out your build , min/max guide for the raid ... thats ALL wrong.. there should be the possiblity to have 15 damage phases if the team needs it.. why not, who cares, if you can do it in one, let the team take their time and do it their way. noone gets hurt by this, unless they are buthurt .. and i am very sure i will get a post that stating something stupid like "ohh you dan teven have a raid clear" without acknoledging that i cleared every friggin raid since Vaulf of glass on Normal and hard , and thus just making my point, thanks in advance for that unlucky guy, he will get a trophy for this.. =)

 •

Depends on what? Your judgments of someone?
Their willingness to learn and attitude towards criticism. Same thing i said in the first quote. So...your judgements then...no one cares btw
The community should focus on the community instead of raid exotics...it shows a lot of character when you can teach patiently and just have fun with things...the best raids I've ever done were experiences that you share with all those involved...experiences that involved working together and achieving something fun through teamwork... I think that's what Bungie is going for here...
And that's cool and everything but 1. Nobody is obligated to help anybody, in a perfect rainbows and sparkles world absolutely everyone would help everyone all the time for as long as it takes. 2. To have a shared, fun experience, everyone needs to be having fun. I don't like feeling like my time is wasted unnecessarily, it makes me feel annoyed. World isn't sparkly joy and rainbows my friend, everyone isn't a care bear.
Sure then play by yourself - Destiny - especially Raids - are meant to be played with people...if you don't like people then stick to matchmaking activities...by the way: people need time to learn; People make mistakes; people don't deserve your judgments or criticism... Yes you aren't obligated to help people, but your not obligated to be a dick about it either...

 • If you dont know how to take and process constructive criticism without getting butthurt and taking it personal, then you have more problems than just sucking at a game. The difference between players that will always need to be taught and those of us that will learn by doing then teaching those that wont is that you will always be begging for a carry. You can choose to believe whatever you want though. If you ask for help and then blame the teacher because you refuse to learn then you are the problem. Just tuck your tail between your legs and run away blaming others for your ineptitude.

 • Amen. Good teachers tell people WHY to do something, not just what.

 •
Wrath of the machine was near perfect
On this note, I thought the siege engine was a perfect example of a mission design for 6 people. It's pretty frustrating for people to excuse unnatural mechanic heavy raids because 6 people apparently have nothing to do. It is just bad design.

 • Well said! I believe its the growing prominence of streamers who have encouraged this sort of elitist mentality and taken away the sense of trying and improving in raids with LFG people to get it done. Back on VOG I remember trying for hours with a bunch of randoms, then all coming back the next day to try and finish it. Now if you don't nail an encounter on the second go, you get 'don't you know what you're doing?!?!' followed by someone silently leaving to find a 'better' group. I put 'better' in comments as often the 'better' player leaves who is complaining and you get a more chilled person in, and you're more willing to complete is as everyone else is more relaxed and actually enjoying it.

 • Hhhhh no. I don't want another crota's end raid. Worst raid they've ever made. Also don't know how you can say raids are too complex these days and then ask for kings fall again. That's the most mechanic heavy raid in D1. Also, there were plenty of people asking for you to be a certain LL and/or having specific equipment for D1 raids. I can agree that the token system shouldn't be on by default. But I don't think D2's raids are flawed because said system exists. Last wish is a good raid for people who want more than just killing things (hence memorizing things.) And the newest raid is a good example of old style raids where it's mainly just kills and executions.

 • They're not going back to Crota style. The raid mechanics became what they are because they want everyone on the team to be able to do something. Don't let the kwtd posts deter you. Just join and play. It's just a filter to scare people away. I've never ran in to a team demanding i put on an emblem.
