Remember when people taught you the raid?

I wish the raid community was like in Destiny 1. I can't stand these raid posts, " KWTD have mountaintop and recluse, have every exotic, run this subclass, do a finisher on everything, have every single weapon in the game, use them all at once, wear every armor set at the same time and have all stats 100 on each piece" I just want to do raids ! • Nope D1 was wayyyy more toxic and elitist. I got kicked from VOG group because I had like 30-40 clears instead of 100. Those elitist idiots still playing D1 btw.

  • Do you people actually believe that these kinds of posts didn’t exist back in d1? Or that stuff like “KWTD have gjallarhorn and be hunter who knows how to be sword bearer” didn’t exist back in the day? Well guess what, posts like that have existed since VoG so grow up and shutup.

    • I've beaten every raid at least once each. I always rely on the kindness of others to show me how to complete raids before I can help my friends or others. I'm on Xbox. If you can't find randoms on lfg to help, can you find a good raiding clan?

    • D1 raids were way simpler, and a fun group activity with lfg randoms. They need to make these raids more fun and easier for a random group to collect themselves, teach themselves and have some good clean fun. Destiny 2 raids are like a LFG-ShitShow-Generator!

      • You forgot, “must have already completed the raid”! Yeah this community sucks now. I’m still in the 930’s and I’m afraid by the time I get up there I won’t be able to get an invite to even attempt to do the raid. It’s to the point they should just do matchmaking cuz this LFG a team is nothing but toxic and frustrating. I’m in a clan and that’s not even helpful anymore cuz everyone’s at a different time zone and when I’m on everyone’s doing something different or doesn’t have time.

Man D1 I did each raid at least 100 times. I have done very little raiding in D2 simply for the fact that people in D2 expected 110% perfection and are ruthless about the slightest of slip ups. In D1 as long as you knew the raid and met the power level you were always fine. Heck even if you only met the power level more than half the time people would still let you in as long as you could pick it up quickly. In D2 unless you meet 20/20 requirements you aren't even acknowledged. And if you join a group of people who are all together, you are basically to blame for everything that goes wrong even if you aren't the cause.

I spent a total of nearly a full day itself on the new raid. About 1 hour on the first encounter. Another 2 on the second. 5 hours on the third. The rest has been spent on the boss encounter. My will is sapped, and I still have not beat it. I legitimately, woke up sick today, just because of much I’ve tried. And I’m an avid raider. I’ve completed last wish, Scourge, and crown many times. But I feel I’ll never win at this, even if I got to a higher power level. Now I wonder if I really deserve to live. So much has happened to me lately, not just this. Is life really worth it? My failures just continue to stack up, and things are not getting any better.

You can watch a video over and over again from your bed, but you still won’t know what to do unless you get stuck in there and repeat a checkpoint 20+ times. Clans are the best places to get help with raids.

People want to run the raid with people who know what they’re doing for the first month or so. Happens every dlc. If you’re not willing to watch videos you need to be willing to wait. Sherpas are still earning the raid mechanics well enough to teach them to others. If you’re not willing to jump into a group of 5 people who don’t know the raid, don’t complain that you want a sherpa to carry you through it. Those are the only 2 options you have.

That’s because raid don’t have room for errors anymore. (At least a very small amount of room anyways) I went for divinity earlier this week and all I asked for was that people know what to do. We got through all the encounters just fine until the final boss. Wanna know how much time we spent on the final boss. Roughly 6-7 hours on the last boss. I can’t really say I blame people for requiring clears after I went through that

                • Really think you forgot most of D1 and the requirements from LFG. I raided a good amount on D1 and rarely very rarely teams wouldn’t have requirements. People seem to forget that you can start your own group with your own requirements. That is what I did with a garden raid group. Some people do not have the time to teach everyone the raid. You don’t have to be in that group.

                • i'm no raid expert but the best way to do raids is join a clan. Use LFG, start making your own raid posts with whatever requirements you need. if you need a Sherpa ask for one. there are so many Sherpa clans out there willing to help a beginner. making your own posts means nobody can complain because they knew what they were joining. meet people playing in public spaces with you and send them friend requests and form your own fireteam. start off slow. build a team of 3 core players and go from there. eventually you will pick up more friends and have enough to do a raid. start off with leviathan. its real easy. the perfect beginner raid. SOTP is really fun and easy too. every day you are playing in a game filled with thousands of other players just like you. most want to do the raid just like you. It is not hard to fill up your friends list with other people. just start interacting with those people who spawn around you.

                • Yea. Now it seems most of them are, "Must know how to do every encounter at the very second the raid launches."

                • This is why I don't raid. I've raided twice with people from my own clan, guys nice enough to give you direction, but if you don't get it correct first time, or the team wipes, they end up relegating you to clearing ads. Why? Because as the new guy to raiding, you're perceived to be the problem. And when they continue to wipe, it's still the newest guys fault. Raids are difficult, they're supposed to be by their nature. Most gamers don't find the harsh learning curve fun, and now that we have a bunch of F2P "New Light" players in, you'll find even more people not raiding, and veteran raiders feeling like the no0bs aren't worth teaching because they're F2P and so cannot be elite enough to raid by their nature.

                • Or learn yourself instead. People didn't buy the game to teach you. They bought it for themselves to enjoy.

                • You and i remember d1 lfg differently. D1 was the exact same, people asking for gjallarhorn in year 1. In year 2 it became touch if malice / sleeper / spindle and year 3 added outbreak prime to that list (and gjallarhorn y3). People asked for emblems in d1 aswell and rightfully so. If you want to get thaught/ teach the raid you make your own post. If it doesnt work watch guides on youtube, you guys can hate datto all you want but his raid guides are crystal clear. Nobody is obligated to teach you anything, most of the time when people ask to be thaught they mean: carry me please!
