Remember when people taught you the raid?

I wish the raid community was like in Destiny 1. I can't stand these raid posts, " KWTD have mountaintop and recluse, have every exotic, run this subclass, do a finisher on everything, have every single weapon in the game, use them all at once, wear every armor set at the same time and have all stats 100 on each piece" I just want to do raids ! • The raid community is very -blam!- raids have such a small window to clear them before you get locked out of them, best thing to do is join LFG or make a group an see how far you can get, the last boss is the issue as people try 2/3 times then they dip.

  • Perhaps you should start your own lfg post to create a team rather than post here about how people don’t want to carry you.

    • My group learned the raids on our own. Sadly this new raid dropped at a time when the group is scattered for a bit. We also have wild time zones. I’m in japan, we have Australians, Welsh and various states. But we make it work. You just got to find the right group

      • This isn't a problem that is unique to destiny. Pretty much any cooperative/mmo with raids or similar high-end content have this issue. It sucks if you are a veteran player that just hasn't had the time and is just plain toxic for new players. I do understand it though. It's no fun losing progress or a whole encounter because someone doesn't know or can't get with it. Same time, it sucks to be on the outside looking in.

        • I did 150+ raids in D1 & I have done 11 in D2. This community has just gotten so damn toxic/elitist.

From the beginning of D1 until I ended up in a clan during EoW D2 I used LFG on the Bungie app or Xbox group finder almost exclusively to find raid groups, and I ran raids at least once a week. When I did I purposefully sought out groups that were new or looking to teach someone new in their group. Why? Because I found the raid more enjoyable with a chill group that took all night than in a group of try hards that berated anyone who messed up but could finish a raid in under an hour (sometimes that was all I could find). Either way I’m going to be shooting aliens in the face all night regardless if I’m running the raid or not. That said there are many people looking to run raids for their first time. People can and should post in LFG and throw up a tag saying for anyone who has not completed the raid or similar. It’s up to us to make the community more inviting and less toxic. Edit: grammar

You're seeing the result of the game lack of REAL in game LFG system. Large portion of people making LFGs in this are hyper elites, or just arseholes in general, who disband after one wipe. If the game had an in game LFG, like it shouldve had since Day 1, more casual and wider friendly player base would use it more. It is also harder to have people teach Raids this early in an expansion, when most are still knee deep in grind.

            • Clearly you never played D1. Id go as far to say that D2 is NICER about teaching new people raids.

              • Idk if I’ve just been incredibly lucky or if PC is different, but I have rarely had a bad experience with LFG raids. I’m in the PC LFG discord server with like almost 200,000 members and there’s always a group forming willing to teach people. There’s definitely a lot of groups looking for needlessly experienced people, but just avoid them and you’re fine. Idk if it’s just different in the discord server, but everyone advertises exactly what they’re looking for there, and there’s always a raid available for everyone.

              • Listen, I'll talk real here. Yes, LFG is like a job interview nowadays, but it's for a reason. People want to get a Raid done in 1 hour or so, there are people who don't have the time to teach another guy, let alone carry one. Let us not ignore the fact that there's also very stupid players, people that don't know how to shoot or even know basic mechanics of the game like what is a buff or what is a debuff, people that don't want to be told what to do even when they're the ones getting carried, people that will go AFK without saying a word. There was a time were LFG wasn't scummy, and that was before Crota's End back in D1. If you don't have a reliable team with whom you can Raid with, at least be competent when joining an LFG group. Watch Raid guides, learn how to shoot, don't get mad if someone is being a bit picky with you. Stand up for yourself and say "I haven't done this encounter yet but I've watched guides, if you tell me what to do we'll get it first try "

                  • I've barely touched raids in D2 except from a few with an old clan, between fed up with lfgs and being in shit clans that weren't interested in helping folk out, I just lost interest and play solo.

                    • I have been solo for almost 2 years because of this mentality, I will not touch a Raid unless I'm Fireteam Leader because 90% of the time I invite 2 people who bring friends and they get Toxic almost Instantly or they're Drunk/High. If you want to Raid, be sober and don't be Rude because you died once.

Mountaintop and recluse are amazing but not powerful enough to restrict anymore. The were both nerfed in the update and of anything just nice to have. Izanagi is something I would say people should have, whisper, wendigo, a decent shotgun to clear close range adds, and a balanced team composition. The only thing that makes me cringe is double primary especially double auto rifle.

                        • look up quick video's on the encounters once you know the name and general function of said mechanics you technically ''Know What To Do'' so if they ask, say yeah I know what to do....Odds are 1-2 other idiots lied about knowing what to do and 1 of em did not watch the video's so hes gunna get kicked and while that happens u polished your knowledge from the few wipes u got lol... jokes aside, just watch video's and tell beforehand you watched the encounter but did not do it yet, most people will accept you.... except the elitist's/tryhard/squeekers will kick you

In year one, I got kicked from a prestige Leviathan because is didn't have Midnight Coup. I swear. Some people just love and die by the YouTuber special. Pathetic really. At the end of the day, if you want to learn the raid, you'll have to LFG for 5 others who want to learn the raid. It might take a while, but it feels so good to finally take down that boss. My clan and I went in to Garden of Salvation and spread it our between Friday and Saturday. None of use knew how to do a single encounter, so we had to learn there. Really fun experience, but it certainly is a huge time investment.
