Remember when people taught you the raid?
I wish the raid community was like in Destiny 1. I can't stand these raid posts, " KWTD have mountaintop and recluse, have every exotic, run this subclass, do a finisher on everything, have every single weapon in the game, use them all at once, wear every armor set at the same time and have all stats 100 on each piece" I just want to do raids ! LoL

No i don't remember because ive always done the same thing with every raid. Wait till datto or some nerd beats it on yt explains how to beat it and then i copy that.

It's always been that way, including D1. Have you forgotten, must have Ghally etc.... Anyway OP, if you are Xbone and play in our time zones you are welcome to join us for raiding.......

1 ReplyDo what I do. Ignore the “have completions” requirements and join anyways. If you’ve watched a video on it then most people won’t even be able to tell it’s your first time unless they actually check. In the first week or so of a raid being out “have completions” is a stupid requirement

Ran hundreds of raids in d1, was my favourite part of game trying to get that loot drop and was fun. D2 raids misses something for me if ya miss running it first day then everyone expects ya to know inside and out every mechanic boss etc. Have only ran leviathon, eater of worlds and last wish. Reason is loot doesn't seem worth it , but there just so mechanically driven where 1 person -blam!-s up it's all over it's just not fun if your in a bad fireteam. I find the dungeons to be more raid like and more enjoyable.

As someone who raids a lot and used LFG a decent amount. I want to finish the raid. I want to play the game In that way. It is not my, or anybodies, responsibility to teach you the raid when there are countless video guides out there. Furthermore if you don't like that groups say kwtd or have XYZ. Make your own LFG post. It Is not that hard. Ironically the reason you probably won't make your own LFG post is because you want people who kwtd and will teach you.

7 RepliesThis community is pathetic and frankly so are you. I have never seen the problem with people making post with strict requirements. They don’t want to teach you, they don’t want to carry you. There isn’t a problem with that, they aren’t obligated to carry you through the raid simply because they have cleared it. People don’t want to teach other people to raid and that is perfectly fine. Also, there is a very obvious solution that makes this post unnecessary. Stop being a little -blam!- and make your own post with your own requirements. It’s very easy, if you can make this post you can make an lfg post stating you’re looking to do the raid for the first time. You’ll get plenty of new people like yourself and maybe get some people willing to teach you. I feel like the only people who call strict lfg post “toxic” are the people who are butthurt those “toxic” people won’t carry them.

2 RepliesFind a willing team. Of find a tutorial vid. Then teach others yourself. Or go blind. More fun that way. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT: YOU GOTTA DO IT ALL BY YOURSELF No but seriously I agree, but raid teaching takes a lot of patience. Something which, let's be honest, our community sorely lacks, ESPECIALLY the former. Many want a quick raid for loot. And if you want proper understanding of a raid, it can take a while to teach.

I don't think the community has changed from D1 to be honest, people still help others with the raid, I think the biggest problem stemmed from when the LFG app updated and changed, before the new outlay you could write a fair few lines on your experience, what you've done or not done, and people were generally more informed of your progress and experience, weapons you have,dont have etc with the new outlay app it doesn't allow you to do that, it's short and to the point, hence why it's alot of KWTD etc

(We only have 2 active members and 2 sometimes active members, so we need quite a few active players) We have not done most of them ourselves, so we don't have any ridiculous requirements other than have a mic, be willing to learn, and be an adult. We are on PS4. PM me if interested.

I may have 7 or 8 D2 raids, and that’s only because I had to go with old friends run CoS 4 times. So I’m pretty much not raiding anymore. Let’s make it simple: the raids aren’t a place to have end game fun anymore. They’re a facade for low IQs who can’t do anything without watching their imaginary boyfriend show them “THE strat”, or a boring chore for players who just want the emblem and loot. No one considers discovering and adventuring fun. I call that the drop out syndrome. People with very little satisfaction in life who feel like an emblem will tell The world they aren’t that bad. Fact is Bungie preferred to listen and look at buttholes who fight for coins on the streets rather than the 95%. To prove my point, just look at all those who sent money in charity to Bungie so they could get their emblem but can never put down a F***** banner. Generosity as a means to shine. Pathetic. At least Bungie understand their market segment very well! Lmfao!

1 ReplyI've only used the fireteam finder on the destiny app, dont use lfg. Asking someone to kwtd isn't that big of a deal. In D1 I remember meeting people in patrol areas and strikes and ended up raiding together. D2 is just eh? Like I dont really care for it anymore. It's not that theres too many mechanics, it just feels like busy work to get to damage phase. Where as in D1 the mechanics were included in the dmg phase. Facing crota with a sword, or running through to help with oracles and clutching just felt idk heroic. Now its alot of take this orb put it here remember this shape, ok well down and dmg phase. Meh.

The Raids themselves aren’t really the problem as much as the community itself is. D2’s community...kinda sucks. No offense. I’m sure you, whoever you are reading this, are just fine. But this game’s community at large is terrible.

Why I don't raid. You only have to look at these forums for the posters labelling people "casuals" and the associated bile that gets spewed. I am not even in a clan as I got tired of people inviting me to parties or their fireteam without having the courtesy to tell me what they wanted and never being available except for what they wanted to do. The playerbase is pretty elitist in general, hell you cant even runs strikes without team mates running in front of you constantly when you are shooting because they want to be first. The game is a pick up and play for a few hours for me now, Bungie openly said they wanted it to appeal to people who see it as a hobby. Its just the way it's headed.

I'm betting before the end of the season, I will hit max light without doing the raid. Not doing something stressful if I can still hit max level without doing it.
