Man it ain't just Bungie. It's the whole game industry. They all say things but aren't held to those words, because there's no system of regulation and quality control in the game industry, and companies in the last 4-5 years have gotten to the point where they can no longer self regulate and now use the concept of "live service" to see bigger and bigger returns for poorer and poorer quality and effort.

Or how a company that has been working on a project for 12 years got it so wrong with its sequel? Oh, and tell me how many companies cry to their player base saying "creating content is too hard" so will use Tess to make our money and drip feed small pieces of content but don't tell them we're not adding really any loot to the game, just scenery, some activities, and cutscenes and call it good?

The engine issue I will agree is kind of a bungie special but that being said, if I'm speaking honestly destiny's graphics even compared to current stuff is still fairly decent. Plus reality is there's not much they can really do with the graphics other than quality and enhancement, which can only go so far. This is simply do to the type of graphic this engine is. It's not something that can be drastically improved compared to something like the unreal engine or the frostbite engine (at least when it comes to the dev side of it). For the length of development time line I 100% give you that D2 WAS trash on release which is really bad and disappointing considering what they had with the end of D1. They had a terrific game at the end of D1 and where they should have built off of that they did not, they remade the game basically. Of course that does fall largely on Activision as they are the ones who wanted D2 to be more casual oriented and were the ones who pushed the P2W mechanics hike to the extremes. But since Bungie's divorce (HA) from Activison and taking full custody of D2 (HAHA) they have been doing really well at redemption. D2 has improved drastically since the beginning and will continue to. As far as the drip freed of new content and the poor quality of it, EA: Battlefront 2 for the first year FIFA (I think 2019), EA/Bioware, Anthem and still going down hill. Activision/[Insert Specific Partner(s) Per Game Here] The last 3 codes and the new cod is looking that way, Bethesda: Fallout 76 (Might take the cake). Basically you take almost any game from the last 2-3 years to now and add it to this list.

  • When I mentioned the engine it wasn't about the graphics it's about the coding issues it has and it's why they're a lot of issues in this game that Bungie will never get to because of how long it can take at time to preduse the content before that can look over what they need to adjust. You should look it up, I watched a video and it talks about how the devs would basically do what they wanted and not communicating with one another over the years that caused other issues. So the drip-feed part is self-explanatory.
