Error Code Lettuce - Port Forwarding and UPnP not helping

've played Destiny 2 for hundreds of hours before the switch to Steam with no issue. I'm now unable to play for more than a couple minutes before told "hang on you're experiencing network issues", which is always followed by a kick back to orbit. The error I repeatedly get when shot back to orbit is LETTUCE. I've performed the network tests and fixes on Bungie's forum including port forwarding and switching UPnP off and on, testing both ways. Please help.
