D2 is now on Steam, would using proton (steamplay) get me banned?

since destiny is now on the steam store, does proton still count as third party software? will i get banned? i've had this game picking up dust for about a year and i'd like to play without reinstalling windows :( thnx ~

Destiny 2 is not supported on Proton or Wine, because these compatibility layers are unable to support our full anti-cheat. The game will fail to launch. If users modify Proton/Wine to force Destiny 2 to launch anyway without our full anti-cheat functionality, players may receive an account ban. Per Valve's announcement of Proton:
Q: Are there any games that will never work with Proton? It's likely that some games using complex DRM or anti-cheat systems will be difficult, or even impossible to support.
